Saints lacked talent which was not solved.
I won't argue the talent level on the Saints d, but they were 13-3 with more or less the same personnel the year before. It's just annoying that people that only love LSU only see every move made as a positive, but the Saints can't improve with a few added players and a new d-coordinator.
regardless I love both, and want LSU's O to shine
I actually think everyone outside of our respective fanbases are sleeping on both teams equally

What a lot of people dont realize is that the Saints dont need a great or even good D to win 11 game... Just get turnovers. When we won the Superbowl our D was middle of the pack. Just need to be better than 20th in terms of defense for us to be as dangerous as ever. If weve average on D, we will be better and win a few more games. I mean we went 7-9 with the worst defense in the history of the NFL. Thats pretty impressive when you consider it. Worst D in the history of the NFL and were 2 games from being .500.
Hey, at least we cant get any worse on D from last year.
With that being said, i still think LSU is a more likely scenario.
But i dont think either will be in the Big Game. Both will have damn good seasons though. Should be a great year of football in Louisiana.

And you could argue that Saints are 1 of the least talented teams from top to bottom roster wise. We beat teams that have more talent than us because of 2 people: Drew Brees and Sean Payton. Last year we didnt have Payton and look what happened. From top to bottom, the Falcons and even the Bucs are more talented than us.
Holy shite worst post of thread

Both teams play championship football on one side of the ball, but not the other. Both teams hired a big gun to remedy their weakness.
The Saints are more likely to win it all, because they can drop a few and still play their way in. LSU doesn't have the same luxury.

Really??? What part didnt you like then?? The fact that minus our QB, TE, Guard and Head Coach we arent that talented??

Minus our qb, wr's, OL, Te, coach, some d lineman, corners depth at S and all kinds of shite yeah we suck
Posted on 8/16/13 at 9:54 pm to Chad504boy
Dude come on... we dont suck. I never said anything like that. We arent as talented as a lot of teams in the league but we are better than 98% of those teams at Qb and Head Coach, the 2 most important and instrumental spots on a team, which is why we beat them. We have an elite TE in Graham too. Evans is a damn good guard. Strief is solid. Colston is solid. Moore is a good #3. I love what i have seen from Stills, but is still a rookie and has had the occasional drops. It is preseason though.
Well considering we were the worst D in the history of the NFL, yeah our D sucks. Cant believe you talked about our CBs and some DL. We have 1 solid DL in Jordan, and he looks improved should have a good year. Hicks has had moments of being good, but played sparingly. We will find out what hes about this year. . Greer is a below average to average #2 CB. And getting up there in age. Lewis should help our CBs improved. Harper is a good run stopper, cant guard anybody. Jenkins cant tackle. Opposing QBs had an average passer rating of 93.8 against us. Not good. I like Lofton. Solid MLB. Vaccaro looks promising, but isnt a starter right now. And its hard for a safety to shine when our other DBs suck.
Outside of those players, we have a huge drop off.
Julio and Roddy and VJax and Mike Williams are better than our top 2 WRs(not including Graham). Graham and Tony G are equal. Do the Bucs even have a TE?? Steven Jackson and Doug Martin are better than any RB we have. The Bucs had the #1 run defense in the game last year. Gerald McCoy is 1 of the top DTs in the game. And th Bucs aquired Goldson and Revis. Goldson is the best safety in the divison now and Mark Barron looked solid last year. William Moore is good too. We will see how Revis bounces back. Sean Weatherspoon is a good LB. He and Lofton are equal. And thats just in our divison. LaVonte David of the Bucs is a stud too. The Bucs OL gave up the 3rd fewest sacks in the NFL last year, and the rushing game averaged 4.4 yards per carry, which was 11th best.
I wasnt hating on the Saints by saying we are less talented that a lot of teams in the NFL. And i said we BEAT those teams that are more talented than us roster wise BECAUSE of our QB and Coach. Its more of a testament to Brees and Payton than anything else. And we should sweep the Bucs and split or sweep with the Falcons. Roster wise from top to bottom, they are more talented that we are. Didnt say they were a better team. More individual talent. We have Brees and Payton. We beat them.
You must of thought I said they were better teams than we are. I didnt say that. Individual talent wise, they are. But we beat them, making us the better team. Talent alone doesnt win you games in the NFL. Play calling and QB play do. I mean the Chiefs had the most Pro Bowlers in the entire NFL last year but won what 2 games?? Why? QB play and head coach. You can also argue that the Pats arent as individually talented as a lot of teams in the league too, minus a few players. But why do they win 10+ games every year? Head coach and QB play.

Saint's schedule is a bit of a mix bag this year.

you must be talking about the falcons...cause you surely not watching the Saints...

Tigers, no question about it.

We may be young and hungry enough to just pull it off....LSU that is.

Saints and it's not close. They are actually able to complete multiple forward passes without you being surprised about it. An elite qb and coach give you a punchers chance. Lsu has more raw talent that will beat up on less skilled teams and look ugly doing it but shite the bed against teams of equal talent and better/ more disciplined coaching. 10 wins is their ceiling.

I'm gonna have to go with the Saints here. While I believe that LSU is the more complete team, the Saints can lose 5 or 6 games and have more time to gel as a unit before they reach the playoffs and possibly get hot.
LSU can probably only afford to lose 1 game, it has to most likely be early, and it probably can't be to Bama. If the NCAA had some form of a playoff system, I would give the edge to LSU.
