Honestly I don’t see why Brian Kelly wouldn’t try to get as many above average safety’s and corners as he can.

Corners 100%.

Lockdown corners make your entire defense better. They are the difference between a good and a great defense. Elite pass rushers are in the same boat as lockdown corners.

Safeties. You can’t turn a corner into a linebacker, but usually you have versatility with a safety.

However good cornerbacks can shut down more field space.

I don’t care, just get a couple dbs.

People have been saying safety’s are a higher need which is questionable to me

Our safeties were a bigger liability than our corners and both are gone. Can’t rely on a pair of freshman safeties in the sec

#1 priority for a safety is to LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE TACKLING! Stop dipping your head as you go in! If I heard "targeting" from a ref one more time I was gonna lose my mess! This is form tackling 101, supposed to be taught since youth football.

The lack of ability to play man on the edges made our whole defense much more limited

Who do we have for next year, that's my question.

If you have a freshman or soph who is as good as who's out there, you stick with them.

Not a question that needs to be answered. We need corners, safeties, and DTs.

lock down CB.

as much as we need a big safety who can hit blitz, and play by the LOS, CB is always more important.

Lockdown corners are a thing of the past; todays officiating doesn't allow for it.
You need to be stacked on the DL first if you wanna have a top defense.
