It was Davis. BK said if I have to fire Sloan, than Davis is gone too.
Probably because he was the interim coach before

Woody leaked it. LSU put this out there for us to know it was going down.

He must have made Woody fricking livid for him to leak this to the press.

Cause one side, either the AD or Kelly, wanted in the media & they told him. I’d suspect Kelly linked it to make him appear strong & supporting his OC.

Why would you protect the worst OL Coach in the conference?

Kelly wanted to keep Sloan. What a bitch.
That’s not what the articles says lol

You guys know a similar situation happened at ND right? This is why he bolted to LSU. He got int a hissy fit over the admin and boosters. He blamed them for not getting him over the hump to win a NC. So he went to LSU where he thought he could get a higher talent pool with better booster support.
To clarify, Kelly wanted to end his career at ND by winning a national championship. He asked for the same thing that Lou Holtz got from ND; Holtz was allowed to bring in five players per year who otherwise could not meet the admission standards of Notre Dame. Holtz got his championship, but some of these players actions tarnished ND's reputation. Holtz was basically shown the door. Kelly was told no.

Davis will be fired now for certain, so why would BK choose that hill to die on? He'd have been better off letting the entire offensive staff go.

May have been an AD trap. Scott already had the green light to fire the HC and to push Kelly where he wouldn't go and then pull the trigger and go for insubordination. Just saying.

Kelly fired back that he wanted to make other staff moves Woodward wasn’t comfortable with.
I wonder what BK wanted to do?

Woody made a bitch of himself
A guy can say whatever he wants to his boss when you owe him that much money regardless

Probably talked to Kelly or Woodward.

He needs to go coach the debate team at Yale.

Good for Notre Dame! Lowering academic standards is wrong and unfair to the students.

Firing Sloan solves nothing, cause no OC gonna come here next year with Kelly twisting in the wind.
Posted on 10/26/25 at 8:18 pm to friendlyobservation
Kelly felt the AD Swarbrick was slow playing a contract extension. He was. In 2016, Kelly had a confrontation with the AD about firing his DC Brian VanGorder who was setting school records in futility in points given up, yards gained, and plays greater than 60 yards. Kelly ultimately gave in when the AD threatened to fire him.

Brian Kelly is super stubborn and takes no accountability for anything. That’s his two biggest problems.
