Even if the Saints were not strangled by Carr's contract, they only have picked a QB in the first round ONCE in their history and that was Archie Manning in the 70's. The will not draft JD5 or any QB!

Draft picks arent expensive, the #12 overall pick signed a 4 year $17.8M deal last draft and the cap hit for that year 1 was only $3.2M

Not quite true. After next year Carr’s contract is team friendly.

I think that I heard it would cost the saints more in cap to cut Carr this year than to keep him. It may work to draft JD5 this year and cut Carr after next season.

NYG,Washington, Chicago & NE all need a QB all will be in front of NO Draft Day. Chicago is the only team that has an option of staying with what they have now. JD5 will not be the 5th QB selected in draft.
