Haven't watched a game all year. Couldn't tell you one player on the team.
I love College Basketball & March madness. Wake me up when McNIT is gone.

Dude wishes he was McNIT unfortunately.
Would be a big step up

It’s mind boggling that McMahon still has a job in Baton Rouge.
Not really when you consider what he’s owed, the money spent on football, and the lack of interest from boosters.

Talent has been middling - results have been worse than middling.

Exactly.
Technically, LSU has received an NIT invitation for the last three seasons. NONE of which have been merit based. It's simply because the NIT was obligated to invite two SEC teams and multiple schools ahead of LSU turned down the invite. McMahon has turned LSU into the weirdo loser who gets a last minute invite to the dance by the ugly girl with a unibrow who is desperate to have anyone go to the dance with her. If you have been to an LSU basketball game over the last 4 years and seen the student section you realize this analogy is VERY much appropriate.
McMahon has lowered the bar for success so low that being 4 games under .500 in SEC play would be seen by his supporters as a MASSIVE success.

I don’t think MM has that many supporters. It’s just that LSU doesn’t have the backing to fire him and bring in another coach unless his name is Will and even then it’s questionable.

but the McMen was touting he and the PG were going to lead this team to the NCAA tourney...........when we got blistered by Texas Tech I knew this team was going to finish at the bottom of the SEC.
Time for a new regime. It's over.

Maybe they wouldn’t be 3-15 if Jalen was a starter and not injured.

His best team lost to Nicholls, a game we were down to them by 24 points in. No injuries no “muh talent excuses” his best team, by far, lost to Nicholls.

Yeah, but if LSU had Jalen Cook for that game it would have been different...setting aside the fact that if McMahon put all of the Cook basket that seemed a bit illogical given (a) Cook was ineligible to play that season the day he signed with LSU (b) there was no guarantee he would ever be eligible that season and (c) there was apparently no backup plan to offset the fact Cook may not play that season.
With a favorable SEC schedule and a bit of luck, LSU was somehow able to go 9-9 in SEC play that season. Yet, because they did NOTHING in the non-conf portion of the schedule, ironically MM's best non-conf. schedule of his LSU career, they weren't even in consideration for a NCAA Tournament bid. Of course, the excuse was "if we only had Cook then". Well, maybe it's not the best plan to rest your hopes on a guy who may not be able to actually play.
There's no plan. There's no contingency plan. The "plan" has always been find the best players who will agree to show up, run the same predictable sets over and over with little consideration of the strengths/weaknesses of the particular roster, hope it works, then rely on a disinterested media and fanbase to find some excuse to justify the historic rate of losing.
Rinse and repeat

Or, you know, play Hannibal at PG which ended up leading to the success we did have later on that season but never dawned on him until he was left with no other options.

LSU played a horrible non-conference schedule. There non-conf. SOS was nearly 300. THAT is why they looked so go. When LSU played the only two teams in non-conf. play that were close to SEC level competition (Texas Tech and SMU), they had one good game (SMU) and were destroyed in the other (Texas Tech). Thomas and Nowoko played in both.
Stfu! You’re gonna say a complete rebuilt team should have ran through those games with 1 pg, Tamba, Sutton shooting deep, and mck being told he’s the go to. Thomas didn’t face great def guards in non conference but it was just him. Nwoko owned the paint the first 8 minutes. Once he was gone, Nwoko was lost. Eat shite!
CMM Failed but lsu put him there.
