.what about McMahon having higher rated recruiting classes.
Doesn't matter if the players are injured and unable to play.

What some of you refuse to copmprehend is you are comparing established programs who have been able to build thei rostes and name brand over several years or decades asa opposed to a coach inheriting an empty roster undder the cloud of potential draconian sanctions who then loses two starters to season ending injury in two consecutive seasons
What you fail to comprehend is that McMahon sucks. What do his teams excel at? We play boring basketball and our coaching gives us no edge.
We were 0-3 in the SEC with Thomas playing including a complete blowout loss to a bad Miss. State team at home. And Texas Tech destroyed us by 24 with Thomas too. We only beat 4 winning teams all year and two of those teams were 18-17 and 19-16. The only two decent teams we beat all season were SMU and Mizzou. McMahon just isn't a good coach.

Thomas was not fully recovered but attempted to play after a month's absence . The first two losses were on the road to the regular season and tournament chjampions. The last was a down to the wire loss at Arkansas. He left the State game after a re-injury and never played another game.

If I’m the ad I push for guards, if you got 2 good ones, try for 2 more.
CMM put a descent team together this year, just had no depth. Thomas was dangerous during non conference, and…. Nwoko looked 1st team sec… until. Once Thomas was hurt, tigers failed. Sutton no longer extended the offense with mck and went to the block and helped us survive. Tamba was forced to touch the ball waaaay too much on offense.
Carter, king were forced into the lineup with poor leadership. Reece is my fav player on the roster but he should have been running with Thomas, mck, king 20 minutes game 1. Didn’t see more than 10 minutes until after Thomas was gone. No blame on him for being a rook. Hopefully lsu keeps hims and provides competition to continue development.
Why do we give a shite about Australian talent? Ms, ark, and Missouri aren’t too far away since la is only football and baseball. CMM, go to work!

Well he played most of the game, scored 14 points and we still got destroyed by a terrible Mississippi State team at home in the PMAC.

Thought all those guys could’ve been used and had some success with but I agree Reece has the most upside.

If an AD who has zero college basketball experience is having advise the head coach on how to construct his roster then that is a MAJOR problem.

LSU played a horrible non-conference schedule. There non-conf. SOS was nearly 300. THAT is why they looked so go. When LSU played the only two teams in non-conf. play that were close to SEC level competition (Texas Tech and SMU), they had one good game (SMU) and were destroyed in the other (Texas Tech). Thomas and Nowoko played in both.
For FOUR years we've had people try to figure out every reason why LSU has been the worst program in the SEC and one of the worst major conf. programs in the nation...except the one constant in those for years and most obvious reason for the poor play. LSU has a bad HC. Give MM a full roster. Give him depth. Give him no adversity and he MIGHT hit .500 in SEC play, along with the usual bad non-conference schedule he plays.
It's like dumping thousands into a car to fix the brakes, steering colum, shocks, air conditioning, seat belts, etc when the reason it won't wont is the engine doesn't work...and has never worked. Change the engine and the car will run fine. Otherwise, you are just throwing good money to fix everything but the actual problem.

This should be mandatory listening for ANYONE who has an opinion about LSU basketball. Charles Hannigriff, who I've always felt was the most reasoned, logical, non-emotional, media personality who covers LSU sports, beautifully summarizes every discussion we've had for years now when it comes to McMahon and LSU basketball
Live at Lunch - (start at 4:00 mark)
In short:
McMahon is a nice guy and has conducted himself with class the entire time he's been at LSU. However, the record speaks for itself. It is historically awful and all of the constant excuses are tiresome and meaningless.

I’ve posted this 10 times on here. The roster has looked different every year he’s been here, but the team makes the same mistakes and looks disorganized in the most important moments every single year. The one constant has been McMahon.

Jalen Reed wasn't the same player he was before the knee injury.
He's a lower to middle of the mall SEC player at best!!!

Was never a full time starter even when healthy. Had his job taken by Derek Fountain both years he was healthy.
