At this rate, if some of these HS kids end up making it to campus, Jay may need to purge some of the existing players from the team. Who do we suspect might be on the way out?

As much as I agree that Guidry needs to move on if he’s not drafted, in no way do I believe that Jay would ask him to look around. Jay seems to have a fondness for Guidry that’s not based in reality.

why would anyone ask guidry to leave. he cares more about the team than anyone we've got. you dont tell people like him to leave. lit wont happen and it shouldn't..

I am in agreement with you regarding Guidry, I don’t believe Jay would ask him to leave but for his benefit, he would be better served somewhere else so that he can be featured as a starter and that will not happen at LSU.

Not speaking about any individuals, but the balance is recognizing that if some of these guys want to go pro they need to be somewhere they can play a meaningful role relative to what they’d have at LSU. This is particularly important for players with limited eligibility.

My post said that he may choose to grad transfer. I have no way of knowing if Jay would encourage him to look around and I wont speculate on it. But guys leave all the time for clearer paths to playing time

guidry will work his arse off this off season and be a better pitcher. he was a better pitcher this year even though the results may not have shown it most of the time. at the beginning of the year he was throwing 3 or 4 pitches for strikes. I have no idea where that went later into the season but I think he builds off of that and takes those 3 or 4 pitches into conference play next year and helps the team on a regular basis.
