I agree that even 3.3 Million isn't a reason to play in Philly. Plenty of guys got drafted and were locks to leave but then came back for another season.

0% chance.

Just relax, and let the draft happen...you're so wound up.

It's not just the draft that does that to him.

I just don't even know what to say to this.

Yeah, great idea. Risk it to get drafted by someone else next year, don't get paid millions now, and don't get to the majors quicker. Makes sense.

This. The MLB Draft is just goofy to say the least and you have to watch it unfold. All speculation is worse than the NFL Draft because there is very little to no certainty. The likelihood of Mac getting a mil or two decreases with every pick though which is a little encouraging, but there really is nothing preventing a team from doing it. Teams will pay the penalty and finagle to money if they really want to sign a kid.

Can you imagine the angst if the NFL held their draft while the college football season was still going on and they drafted a significant number of high school players who had signed commitments to play for LSU (or other schools) and who then had a month and a half to decide if they were going to honor their commitment to LSU or play pro ball instead?

Baseball sucks in that regard.....
