Championship?

They'll be damn good, but they'll also have a shite ton of pressure to win it. That team should be as good all around as we've been in a long tome.

Bad assumption to think poche is staying, imo

Even if he doesn't, we should get Hess and Peterson here, Latz will be back, and then we'll go from there. As good as Poche was last weekend, it won't be overly difficult to replace his overall production from the year. His ups and downs this year are well document.

Poche is probably 50/50... Seems like he would have a lot more to lose than gain by coming back though.

Stallings may leave as well, legit shocked that he went that high... RHP's with a decent fastball are a dime a dozen.

Bryce has played 6 games so far this summer. He's 9 for 23 with 3 doubles and a HR. Would be nice to have him at 1B and Deichmann in RF. 3 walk; 5 Ks.

ive always liked him, he's athletic for his size and has good power. But say you move Deichman to RF, wouldnt Romero get 1st crack at 1B?

I honestly don't know what to do with Romero. I suggested 1B earlier this year but was shot down pretty quick. Apparently PM gave him a couple practices there and it was a disaster.

We have a really good problem as of today. Bryce J., Pap, Romero, Deichmann, Adams, Beau, Breaux, Wofford, Reid, Loch, Ducote

That's 11 guys fighting over 4 or 5 spots. I can't see all of them sticking around.

Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but the Dodgers took 2B Cole Freeman in the 18th round today.

You know what I mean. He was good early and good late, but he had a real rough patch in the middle of the season. I'm not going to sit here and shite on Poche, but his batting average against is 3rd worst among guys with 10 IPs or more, ahead of only Valek and Gilbert. He'd be a big loss, but we're not trying to replace out of this world production.

Romero has not played any 1B since HS. I guess this is a possibility though. Coach tried him at 1B at practice once earlier this season when it became apparent that his bat should be in the lineup, but the experiment was short lived.

He's a starter and he wins. He struggled this year, yes. Can't deny it. But look how tough it is to find a 3rd starter even with what everyone thought was going to be our strength. It hasn't been easy for this staff to find solid starters.

but im sure a full offseason there could make him adequate. He already has natural receiving skills from being a catcher

We'd have to make sure we got another C on campus. And I'm sure he'll be at C all summer wherever he goes.
