And we just got beat by 30 points by them. It could have been worse but MSU took it easy on LSU in the 4th quarter. This game was a complete mismatch in all phases.

"The sky is falling" reaction is warranted. This should be of great concern to the entire fan base, boosters, and administration. What needs to be done to fix this.....quickly.

The originality and depth of this is astounding. It took you until Tuesday to formulate these thoughts?

Todd Grantham is obviously very good at his job as well so there's that.

Oh we'll be fine. Just a correct couple penalties here and there. No biggie.

There was a lot of talk about Mullen being on the hot seat after they started the season 2-5 with losses to BYU and South Alabama

Quickly I don't know but you need to have a QB at least as good as MS's QB and before that you need to recruit great OL and DL players.

The same Ms state team that went 6-7 last year also had 9 juco players come in in the 2017 signing class.
# 1 defensive end
#1 defensive tackle
# 2 safety
# 2 offensive guard
#3 defensive tackle
# 4 safety
#5 offensive tackle
# 6 defensive end
#7 safety

Add all this plus Todd Grantham and a solid QB that can run mullens scheme to perfection and that's how you have the turnaround.

So you're saying their coaching staff had the foresight to see their roster for next year was going to be lacking experience in some areas, and determined it was probably a good idea to fill those areas with more experienced players.

What a novel concept.

2 losses were before they changed QBs. Outside of Bama they were also in every game they played as well.

Mostly due to their QB coming into his own and a D coordinator that was a horrible hire. He is gone and they got a good one.

State matured over last season.

But it doesn't matter unless Mississippi State beats Alabama in the grand scheme of things....they are in the same predicament as LSU is.

How many transfers occurred here after NSD? I'll hang up and listen.

we lost a ton of key starters and they've obviously improved. They are not a 6-7 team this year. They went 7-6 in 2013 and went to the Orange Bowl in 2014. And Fitzgerald wasn't their starter until they'd already lost 2 games last year

no it's not. If this trend continues, then sure.

and what would that be? fire the head coach after 3 games into his first season after his first loss?
