LSU was a +2.5 underdog just hours ago. Now +4.5

I just love that and just took that. That seems to be the play. LFG
I like the tigers and do not think the Kentucky win does nothing to let them down if they can play with intensity. Hope the crowd plays a big factor tonight!!

Same.

I didn't predict that we would beat USCe and UK, however I did post prior to each game in rds's thread that I felt we had a legitimate chance to win each game. And happily the Tigers pulled off both wins!

For sake of not jinxing it and keeping that train rolling, I'm going to do the same here.

On a neutral court, MSU is likely a 6.5 or 7 point favorite. The line is apparently all over the place right now, starting at -2.5 this morning and moving to -4.5 by some accounts. I think -2.5 would be fair, but -4.5 would really not be giving much credit to LSU being at home - and coming off two really quality wins in dramatic fashion.

The real question for me is how the team handles the success and high from those two wins with the storming of the court and Will Baker doing his best Usain Bolt impression.

MSU defense versus LSU offense and riding the momentum we've gained I think are going to be key. If this game was @MSU, I'm not sure I would like our chances a lot, but being at home after all that has happened recently, I really think we have another solid shot at a quality win against a good team.

All that said,

Sharps and all the money on state. 50% of the bets and 80 % of the money on state. Feel even better we win.

I’m worried that our team might get ahead of themselves and lay an egg this game. McMahon has to drill into their head that they have to play just as hard to win this game too.

Replied to you in another thread. Line moving MSU way despite some logic would tell you LSU has momentum. Not feeling great about it now. Ugh.

It’s a let down spot for both teams. State’s coming off an emotional win against Ole Miss as well, and they are staring down the barrel of Kentucky coming up on Wednesday.

Very interesting spot for both teams

Key to the game tonight is to simply focus, play our game, and make sure we go down by 15+ in the 2H
... do that and we cannot lose

I kinda feel like if they take a second and look at the schedule they will feel like this is the most difficult and thus important game remaining if they want to win out.

I think this then Georgia are games they likely can keep focus on. Vandy looks like a potential trap even though that should be a cakewalk.

If LSU wins tonight they will probably be favored until the SEC tournament.

I’d love to see us put two halves together. If we can do that, I think we’re very formidable opponent. It’s really the next step this season IMO.

Any game can be a trap. Arkansas has been playing better and they will have motivation in their last home game. Even Tennessee had to come from behind to beat Missouri.

Curious about thoughts on the team developing an identity.

Does anyone feel like they are? Are they starting to feel like a team that relies on defense, being active and disruptive? Or am I just seeing something I want to see? They could still use more consistency, on offense and rebounding in particular, though.

But whatever the case

Reading my mind bro.

And I promise I will try not to look away for the last 4 minutes of the first half tonight.

Our analytics are still not good on either side, but I think perhaps we're just balancing both better overall - if that makes sense. Rebounding is always a key for us. We can't just shoot lights out and break down defensively, nor can we afford to brick everything and play good defense.

The identity of the team right now IMO is that we get ourselves into huge holes, but still have the fortitude to fight through the adversity.

Btw, I'm super anxious/nervous for this game and time to make a cocktail.

Id love to see a little more consistency. Seems like we're prone to long stretches where we cant buy a bucket. Maybe more driving to the basket to force the issue and/or get to the line
