So let get this straight. No rain at the box, softball is playing, start time is 7:45 and rain is somewhat expected around 10. Why didn't we start on time?

All legitimate questions.
The answer is probably neither team wants to blow their starting pitcher in another rain delay.
But it hasn't rained in over an hour. At some point you have to play ball.
