The LBs are undersized and might get exposed against a power team like Bama. Mingo runs a 4.5 and would be a beast at middle or sam lb. except on passing downs I'd go with a bigger DLine and put Mingo at LB and stack the box against Bama. From what I have seen from that QB, he's not going to torch LSU's secondary. Mingo needs to start practicing at LB now so he can be ready.

What is Chavis' email?

Mingo practiced at LB for a year and they decided he was better at DE. Most of our current LB are better run stoppers than Mingo at DE, anyway. Dude gets thrown around like a rag doll by big OT sometimes.

Yes, let's take one of our top two edge speed rushers and put him at middle linebacker three days before a game.

That's a great fricking idea.

Mingo is much better against the run this year than last.

Minter, Muncie have been getting more playing time lately. Let's stick with them as run stopping support at LB.

Chavis' MO has always been to stop the run with numbers. They'll load the box against Bama. I'll take LSU's DBs against Bama's WRs. The DEs don't always have their hands on the ground. In some packages they only have 3 traditional down linemen and have have 1 DE as an edge rusher playing more of an OLB pass rusher anyway. His pro prospects are as a 3-4 OLB though.

Agree with your assessment. As we all know, Bama will try to establish the run first. I think we match up well.

He is sorta kinda a rush linebacker/DE anyway but you dont want him following tight ends around the field you want him gunning toward the ball.

He will stay at DE at LSU, but I guarantee you he'll be looked at as a 3-4 OLB in the NFL as well.

Sorry for the thread highjack, but I was wondering a bit about Muncie

He played against WVU, but I didn't really see him on the field so much last game. Did I just miss him, or did he not play as much?
