Miles wants a Trophy for the aTm Game

Leave it to Les Miles to come up with another wacky rivalry idea. On second thought, don't leave it up to him.
LSU already has the burden of the Boot in its annual battle with Arkansas. But Miles thinks the LSU-Texas A&M rivalry needs a similar type of trophy.
"It's a tremendous rivalry; we need a trophy," Miles said. "Somebody needs to come up with a trophy. Like a big, uh, because there's so much petroleum on both ends."
When one media member suggested an oil barrel, Miles replied, "Not a barrel. A wrench or something, like the roughnecks, am I right?
"I think there's a chance for a trophy out there. It's a hell of an idea." LINK

I like the idea a hell of a lot more than the Boot with Arkansas.

Do not want. We already have the Boot and the Magnolia Bowl. Forced rivalries suck.

like the idea. It is rivalries week after all and I think T a&m is more of a true natural rival than Arkansas.

But the rivalry with A&M isn't forced. There's plenty of history and shared culture from which to draw. Minus the corps of cadets, LSU and A&M are practically the same school. This is a rivalry that will blossom over time, and I'm glad to have them back on the schedule for good.

Not particularly crazy about the idea. But it could work if it was something like he says - like a big wrench like they use in the oil fields. Maybe something the size of a baseball bat or so.
Maybe as part of the deal they can get rid of that awful trophy for the Arky game. The only interesting part of that whole series was McFadden running around like crazy when he "got that wood" and that was an Arky moment of triumph instead of one of ours.

Somebody needs to tell Miles that they give a trophy for winning the SEC, or national title. Taking elite talent and placing them in a junior high offense might win you 8-10 games a year, but you ain't winning a trophy for that.

Miles is so crazy lol. Could do with a trophy like something simplistic, but I want this to wait until both current TAMU and LSU teams are at their peak. That will most likely be 2016.
