Let's say he'd rather be an assistant on his way to retirement. Do we take him as OL coach?

Actually, his best fit is Penn State. I dont see them keeping Franklin after this season. They have not improved at all and have become a bottom feeder. Penn State would be perfect

Yep forgot about Penn State that would be a great fit for him scheme wise and what type of player they recruit well. The only downside is that Miles will be leaving a pressure cooker in LSU and the SEC west to go to another pressure cooker in Penn State and Big 10 east. But Miles isn't afraid of a challenge so that actually would be another great gig for him and definitely a challenging one, but I think that would make a lot of sense and Penn State would love to get him knowing that if he is successful he ain't going anywhere.

I could see Les being hired on at Michigan as an O line consultant. Similar to what you're seeing at Bama. They'd be able to pay him minimal because of LSU payments.

Makes sense, though I'm sure he'll get interest from smaller schools or mid-majors to be a HC. If he still wants to coach but no longer be a HC, Michigan makes a ton of sense.

He'd be a great addition as a recruiter and amplifies Harbaugh's messaging in regards to being a Michigan Man, etc. Given the support he has in AA, especially among former UM players and "fans of Bo", I'd be surprised if they don't reach out in some capacity after this season.

East?
I think there is a decent chance he ends up there if Muschamp is canned for good.
Not a terrible job and Miles would be able to recruit and win more consistently in the East.

Are you freaking serious?????

Miles won't be an assistant, he loves to run the show and he doesn't need the money so why work unless it is the perfect scenario and I don't see him thinking that "being an assistant is his perfect scenario"

Fulmer said the same thing when he was fired and he never coached again. KSU might be a good fit but don't look for him to win 8-9 games a year.

I doubt he takes a HC job. If he does then the buyout will be much less for LSU. I think he will do some tv stuff and take it easy.

Those saying USC make sense because that is the only big time program where Miles could make sense. He could get their recruiting going again and "groom" a coach in waiting.

K-State is gonna hire Venables as their next HC. I do like Les at a lower-tier Big 12 school though. Could see him at Iowa St or Kansas.

Hope he's done with the big programs. He should go to a smaller school where he'll be appreciated, can get a couple of great recruits and dominate a non-power conference.

Except for the fact that the rumor is that Harbaugh is not a big fan of Les Miles the coach, not the man. So if those rumors are true why would Harbaugh hire someone that he is not a big fan of?

I agree K-State over-achieves, but I do believe he could recruit and recruit well there!!!

What do you base this off of? Kansas State has NEVER recruited well. In the entire state of Kansas, there are currently no 4 star players available.

Next time you tell someone to put the crack down, have a fricking clue as to what you are talking about, son.
