Miles on SEC Now

Great interview. Of course, he discussed the two hires. However, most importantly, he was asked the question about lack of QB productivity.
Miles used the words "painful" to describe his QB play. It's clear he understands this squad's main weakness. I feel confident this coaching staff will get the train back on the right tracks quickly.
This sucks that I'm already excited about September...

Today is a day of firsts for Miles. Never thought he would refer to something under his control as painful.
It's good though.

I've gotten annoyed with him but I'm always in his club.
My man.

I like the way he presented himself at the presser.
He looked serious and like he was not fricking around.

I feel like Les is realizing he doesn't have unlimited job security and is really doing all he can to reverse the trend.

That was his best interview ever. Never questioned himself

I thought the exact same thing.
He looked confident, full of enthusiasm and energy..... that was a great presser.

Most promising thing I've heard him say in a while. Sounds weird to call that promising, but it is, because Miles usually minimizes the QB problems.
This time he jumped right on the elephant in the middle of the room. Hope that continues.

It's time to bring back the SabiDojo Sunshine Pumper Rewards Program!

The problem with Lester is no one knows which Les is going to turn up at game time.
He leads us down a path, everyone follows and we blindly wait for the explosion or implosion.
There is no predicting with CLM

I believe this Chavis debacle woke him up and put a fire back inside of him. He wants to be the best at recruiting and prove they can put together a quality defense without him. He also knows with defensive changes, the offense has to score more.

"I feel confident this coaching staff will get the train back on the right tracks quickly"
Was there an unannounced QB genius hired to the staff that would lead you to feel this way?

This is refreshing to hear Miles say that, and maybe just maybe we get this thing fixed.
The first step to any kind of change is recognizing a reason for it in the first place.

Here's the problem. Miles and Cameron picked Jennings and Harris to be the top two and, as a result, ran off the other scholarship QBs. Then we hear that Harris can't learn the offense and Miles now admits that Jennings play was painful.
How did these two end up as the top two? Was Jennings really the best QB on the roster last spring? Was Harris the second best if he wasn't learning the offense?
Miles has signed one productive QB in 10 years. That is a coaching issue.

The first step is admitting you have a problem. Keep going to those meeting Les, whatever it is, keep doing it...lol

I saw a look from him yesterday that I haven't seen in a long time. He didn't look as guarded and looked like
I'm not sure if it is missplaced, but to hear him call the QB play painful is a huge step in the right section. This is the same guy that said JJ played great after 90 yard passing performances. Same guy that said AJ played a good game after the Ark game. I have been as critical of him this season as anyone, but there is a glimmer of hope I'm taking out of this that he actually has his shite together finally. Then again, Steel might do worse than he ever has, we might still have garbage QB play, and BeBe might get us on probation. Let's not kid ourselves though, we are all still going to be either in Tiger Stadium or in front of our TV's every game next year. No matter how frustrating being an LSU fan can be, it's better than any altenative I can think of.

Simplified answer is that Jennings is simply a practice QB. He knows all the assignments and performs well in those situations. This got him to 2nd string over Rivers. That's 1 scholarship transfer.
Then in comes Harris will all of his talent. In Spring he gets out there throwing rockets and looks better than Jennings in the process. All talk is AJ vs Harris and Rettig sees an underclassmen threatening any chance he ever has of playing. Scholarship transfer 2.
Week 1 comes, Harris reportedly hasn't picked up the playbook and Jennings looks like Jennings.
