Two observations:
1. The idea behind this drill is good, but I never like practice drills that involve most of the players standing around for a long time. Just doesn't seem like the most efficient use of time.
2. I like how Gonzales is using the drill as a teachable moment. He steps up and shows the receivers how they can improve after each drill. That could have happened with other position coaches off camera, but I just noticed Gonzales doing it.

but the 265lb fullback is going to push the 215lb linebacker around just about every time.
So against UGA, we should've used Dominique Allen to lead block on Rennie Curran?

thought allen was at 253ish now, still a mismatch in terms of weight, but that's who he's going to have to block in a game, so it's legit to me
i dont know what his weight is, but he's fricking huge.
and yeah they'll go head to head in a game, but they arent going to line up 2 yards away from one another. Francois has a much better shot in space of disengaging a big FB like that.
he's no match 2 yards away.
like Miles says, its a drill to generate some emotion
its not really practical unless its OL vs DL or maybe CB vs WR
not bashing it, i think its great. But thats what i get out of it

i understand, but we did these type of drills at the end of a practice.. kind of as a bonus/special event. it does get ya fired or up.. or like in theriot's situation.. a little nervous..

I love the drill and if it sets the tone for an aggressive practice every day, it can only roll over to the playing field on Saturday nights from there. I like what I am hearing and seeing from this team so far, it really seems like a much more concentrated effort. This is exactly what it needs to be for an entire football season in order for them to make it back. It really isn't that far out of reach and the talent is DEFINITELY still there to make it happen quickly.

That was the best thing I've seen in a while. I really enjoyed that. Didn't seem so much that Miles is an idiot. Looks like he has good command over practice. I really hope this brings the physicality back to the Tigers.

i love how all the coaches said ''unfair'' for whoever went up vs. sheppard but still let it happen.

true on most accounts, he is huge, but if fancois is shooting a gap to get to the RB, and allen meets him in the hole, quickness probably won't avoid that every time

"Kellen Theriot...Kelvin Sheppard...ooooh, oooooh that ain't fair, that ain't fair"
All of the Asst coaches were pumped up too. Frank Wilson and Billy G looked like they were teaching technique while Brick and Cooper were more into intensity. This team will be extremely physical this upcoming season, on both sides of the ball.

Miles is a better Mean Jean Okerland than a head corch.
Davenport looks weak as hell. Al Woods the second.
I love the physicality by the olineman and Randle.

I think the addition of Billy G is going to pay HUGE dividends.
He seems to bring an intensity and always coaching at every possible moment. I feel this will force the other coaches (Stud and Brick) to not sit back on their heels. I feel he will raise the level of the entire coaching staff, Miles included.
Not a slam on any of these guys, but I think a sense of complacency was settling in, nice to see a shake up.

Couldn't help but notice that Miles lost track of the score at one point: "Is it 5 to 5?" That sent shudders up my spine and reminded me of, well, you know what. Seriously, though, that could happen to anyone, I know, but after the Ole Miss game . . .
To me it seemed like he was asking a rhetorical question. I wouldn't think too much of it.
But, dammit I can't sleep now thanks to that video.

Wonder if Rueben smiles after that.

I'm pretty sure he still had his non-chalant emotionless face whenever he pancaked that Loston.
Wouldn't that be something to see as a defender? Get man-handled and burnt by a guy with an emotionless face.
