I'm trying as best I can to engage in cold, rational analysis based on what I see.

Saban, Meyer and Nutt have proven to be Miles's coaching superiors. Petrino? Let's see what happens Saturday.

Mullen and Chizik need more time to prove themselves, but, don't be shocked when they prove better than Miles.

Coach Miles is a fine man and a fine football coach, but, the SEC changes very rapidly, and Coach Miles is now, at best, an average SEC coach.

The worship of Saban, who couldn't shine Pete Carroll's shoes, is ridiculous. The quality of his coaching does not merit your worship. You will see this well illustrated IF Alabama (a marginal team at best but for Ingram) scrapes by a less than stellar Florida and then gets trounced by Texas.

Really? Is this guy serious? You don't think Saban gets more out of his players? Well you must because you said the rest of the team minus Ingram is "marginal". So what does that say when a coach can take that and turn it into an undefeated regular season? 2 in a row at that.

No, I really don't. Nothing would please me more than Miles & Co. to prove me wrong and finish 10-3.

But I see no possible way this team can put the Ole Miss game behind them and beat a decent Arkansas team.

No...it's your opinion

0-8 in the last eight games vs. Saban/Meyer/Petrino/Nutt

Yep, pure speculation.

I would put Mullen ahead of Miles.

1st and goal at the one and Dixon does not get the ball 4 times?

Mullen is below Miles level at this point.

Well considering we've only beat two teams this year with winning records, yes, 6-5 is decent.

so you rank the coaches the way you see it and thats called a "fact"?

heres an actual fact: Nutt has been a SEC head coach for 12 years. if you take only his BEST 5 years and throw out the other 7, he's 27-13 in the SEC.

Miles has been in the SEC 5 years, and even after "running the program into mediocrity" for 2 years, he's 26-13 in the SEC.

conclusion: even when Miles does everything wrong hes still as good as Nutt at his best.

Which coach does more with the talent that they have on their team?

Just give him time. He may end up being 6th.

Nutt 3
Les 2

And Nutt coached 2 different teams to beat Les. And beat Les in Les' best year.

Conclusion: Nutt > Les.

I agree that Houston Nutt is a better HC than Les Miles at this point.

I reach this conclusion based upon the fact that Nutt has won three in a row against Miles, when Miles has had the talent advantage in all three contests.

That's not to bash Coach Miles, because, Houston Nutt is a fine football coach.

Houston Nutt

Why does Houston Nutt have mythical status around here? Only once has he lost less then 4 games and that was his first year in 1998. He has a total zero SEC Championships and suddenly he is a great coach.
