He fixed what was broken last year. What else do you want him to do? Are you expecting instant gratification?

Miles comment in todays's advocate
Actually, he said he would "get the defense fixed" last season and of course, he did after the season. Out was Mallory...out was Peveto or I like to call them Abbott and Costello. Out was Lane. In comes John Chavis...in comes Ron Cooper...in comes Brick Haley.

Promise made...promised delivered! Les gets an A+ for arranging the defensive fix!

I will agree that the defense is much better. I can't include Brick Haley in that group just yet. I hope that changes but the lack of pressure with our D line makes me hold Haley out of the conversation.

Now on to offense. IF Miles can "fix" it as well as Chavis has fixed the D, I'll take it. As another poster mentioned, I'd take running the ball over having someone just drop back and take 12 yard sacks over and over.

I still consider myself a Posi-Tiger. I just don't think Jefferson is giving us much of a shot this season. Maybe that is the O-Line, maybe that is Crowton. I do know some, not all, but some of this is definitely on Jefferson.

This is looking more & more like Dinardo's press conferences in 1998 & 1999 each week.

First off, as posted above, what else CAN he say? Secondly, when its 3 and 10 and the QB throws a 5 yard pass, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that is NOT what the coach wanted him to do.
We lost, barely, to the Number 1 team in the country. We'll be fine.

I think that part of the reason Miles waited to fix the defense till after the season last year is he is an offensive guy...he knew if he tried to take it over it would not make things better. However, being an offensive guy no matter what you think his philosophy is (big ten etc.) he knows if he takes over we can at least have an identity....Im encouraged by him taking the blame himself

From the perspective of a coach who is looking for answers, yes it is. Miles is a much better coach but the stress of the job is getting to him.

Do we need another 5-loss season to properly fix the offense? A good coach knows two knuckleheads won't work as co-D coordinators, and he doesn't a 5-loss season to fire them and get someone who can coach. Guess now we're fixing the offense with a 5-loss "process." But then we should be perfect.

Very little of it is on Jefferson. As I have said, I give about 70% of the sacks to the OL and maybe 30% to Jefferson with maybe even some of that latter percentage to Crowton for bad playcalling. Regardless, the OL is the main problem but Crowton is supposed to work about weaknesses the best he can. So far, I don't even see any attempt to try to do that...no misdirections, etc.

Dinardo???????? Hahaha lmfao

You lose a close game to the No 1 team and fans are equating Les to Dinardo?????

Either get a grip people or get on some good tranquilizers because Les will be here a long time. Take a deep breath.

I wonder if coach Miles is second guessing what he said earler this spring about his o-line being the best o-line he's had since he's been there. This o-line can't even run block or trap block blame goes to the coaches they have to have seen this against our own defense in the practices. this defense is good against the run.

Another good post. Become an LSU fan because quite frankly your comments are more spot on than some of the ones here by supposed LSU fans.

No, because as I have said you say you have a great OL for 2 reasons:
1) you have a great OL
2) you have a lousy OL and don't want to hurt their confidence even more

Guess which one fits here.

When the offense would come off of the field on Saturday night you could see the look of frustration on JJ's face. I feel like a lot of that was because of he poor play calling and lack of production. Also, didnt JJ persuade GC to call the run to CS in the Miss State game when GC wanted to throw it?

Sometimes the solution is to let the coaching staff come up with a better gameplan, rather than fire 'em all midseason. I suppose there was some good reason why CGC just got a raise approved.
