It’s not the play call; it’s the execution,” Miles said. “When you call the pass, you’ve got to protect the passer. When you call the run, you’ve got to get the first down. We didn’t play well on offense. Simply put.

“Our football team just lost a game and we’ve got to be better, and I’ll take the discredit. That’s my fault. I’ll get us better. But my football team continues to give great effort and continues to be tough and fights to the end and wants victory.

If the coach does his job, we’ll be fine. I’ve got to do a better job. That’s how I see it.”

Note the bold. These are almost the exact comments Miles said after the UF loss in 2006.

And that's exactly when Miles decided JF no longer had express play calling authority.

We'll see if he can deliver.

He said "it's not the call" to politically correct himself when he had started to say the calls were bad.

We heard "we'll get this fixed" all of last year. This scares me.....

It was his I'll get this better comment that was almost exactly what he said in 2006.

He's taking the offense over boys, sink or swim.

I bet GC is gone by the end of the year.

Actually, I hope Miles is taking over the offense. Maybe he was too focused on the defensive transition? I don't know, but the offense needs any help it can get.

ETA: Of course he knows its the playcall, he's not going to say it publicly. Kind of like last year when he kept saying the defense played fine.

I think this is another case of Les' lips moving but not really saying much of anything.

I'm glad to hear it I'd rather us have a Big-10 identity.. than none at all.

Not to simply dump on the QB like a lot of other people do, but in this game, almost everything looked pretty good except for Jefferson. The defense was great and the offense was ok. If we would have been able to pass the ball at all, it would have opened up the run.

Ask Auburn how that worked out for them. They fixed their offense from 104th to top 5.

But broke their defense from top 5 to 67th

and if we focus on this......and actually block well...i'll take it over what GC is doing ANYDAY.

We don't have a clue right now and GC is in trouble if he doesn't fix it.

He said something to the effect that this would improve in 2006. Can any of y'all refresh my memory and tell me how we finnished in 2006 and 2007?
