Miles arrogance is getting in the way of championships for LSU

Nothing new here but Miles arrogance, stubborness, wish to take the fight/will out of the other team - whatever you want to call it, is killing LSU's opportunity to win multiple BCS championships this decade. It's a fact!
If you look at LSU's last 2 possessions in regulation with the opportunity for victory staring them in the face and the lead what does he do? Runs up the middle for loss or very little gain with game on the line EVERY TIME ..... WTF?
I admit it has been a recipe for success during his entire tenure at LSU. Someone on the rant asked would you trade those close to the vest victories for a few more losses if it gave LSU an opportunity for BCS title every few years? HELL yes! That is the goal - to win championships. That is what you remember and enjoy the most.
Saban (I hate putting his name in print) had to feel pretty good about his bleak situation late in the game knowing Miles wasn't going to do anything but run it up the middle and kick. He still would have over a minute to get down the field with his soon-to-be heisman QB. What I would have traded for a roll out pass and 1st down in that situation...... DAMN! Our success rate was close to 100% all night long. It wouldn't have been that much of a gamble. Probably closest thing to a sure bet actually...
Don't get me wrong. I still think Miles is the best recruiter in the business and he is a great motivator. Unfotunately, he is not one to go for victory when it's staring him in the face and that's his downfall as a college football coach. Sure we'll be in the hunt for BCS titles every other year and that's fine and good. But when the cards are on the table and victory is there for the taking he'll need to set aside his arrogance (or whatever you want to label it) and go for the jugular more often than not to get another BCS title. I hope he gets it this decade. Lord knows he has the talent. Oh well, there is always next year and the future for LSU has never been brighter. I just hope our coach learns what it takes to win again. He's almost got it figured out. Geaux Tigers!

You same people would be here bitching about how Miles went full retard and about how the defense was playing great if he would've thrown it incomplete and gave Bama 2+ minutes with a timeout.

Hey look at me.
I'm making sure everyone knows Miles is terrible and will never win another national championship ever again because I'm Sylvia Brown.......wait, what?

The only reason Miles puts in the effort he does is because he is in the division of the best coach in college football. Take Saban out of the west and he is content just competing for the West every year. The truth is, LSU is never committed to winning a MNC as much as Bama is. It is going to take a collective effort by some of the SEC coaches to do something about Saban and Bama.

For the record I am a Dr. However, I should be a shrink dealing with all the Miles infatuaters here on the Rant. Not going for certain victory is inexcusable. That's how you lose and that's the main reason LSU lost again to Ala. Running up the middle EVERY TIME on the last 2 possessions with the lead tells you all you need to know. It was like the BCS game all over again. Very predictable..... Very bad results. Just saying.... Miles learned a bit of a lesson and improved his GPA against Ala. but he still has work to do to graduate. I just hope I don't have to keep saying "maybe next year" over and over again. It's getting old.

You are the exact person when people talk about our fan base turning on a coach in a heartbeat!

The reason the running plays were called was to use up as much of the clock as possible. If they would have passed and not converted or a pick was thrown you would be calling Miles stupid for calling pass plays.
Lurk more, post less.

Running up the middle was working. We were getting a solid 3-5 yards each run.
We didn't lose because he ran up the middle, we lost because we decided to play soft coverage in the last 2 minutes of each half.

Outside of Bama, Mett wasn't all that reliable. If he puts a string of games together where he plays well, you will begin to see Miles have the same type of confidence he had in Flynn and more chances will be taken in situations like the end of the Bama game. You Miles haters will never be happy.

So we were set up for success when our best player smoked his careers away, and 3/5th of out original Oline went out?
we had a lead going into the last 2 minutes and get shredded for a tds. We also missed 2 field goals. Sure les made some risky moves, but we also were in a possition to win if he hold them on Defense.

This right here! We were running the ball effective and you have to burn up as much clock as possible. We almost did that, if not for the last 90 seconds that we left on the clock that was killer. I have no problems with the coaching in this game, we let it all hang out and we came up short.
