He won’t do anything spectacular at the plate, like hit a 400+ towering home run, but he will do what it takes to help this team. His play behind the plate is light years ahead of Travinski. His blocking ability and his ability to frame pitches, steals about 5 strikes per game. I know Travinski offers a lot at the plate but I am not sure it’s worth losing what Milazzo offers on defense, especially if he contributes the way he does on offense.

He seems very humble, too. Watching him now being interviewed. Speaking about serving the pitchers. Very well-spoken.

Agree, love Travinski but we need Milazzo more for our pitchers.

The park favors Milazzo starting. It’s strategy and nothing else.

I loved how much he made the pitchers work in his ABs.

He was great on Mikie’s show about a month ago. Should check that out if you haven’t seen it

Milazzo at the plate this year is one of the biggest turnarounds I’ve ever seen

More than decent chance LSU doesn’t pitch like they did the last two nights with Travinski behind the plate

Milazzo behind the plate makes me feel so much more comfortable. It makes a difference for pitchers too. When you see your C save your arse on WPs, frame beautifully, give encouragement -- it builds confidence. If I'm pitching to a C who messes up little things, that little ounce of frustration adds an unnecessary burden on the P.

For tomorrow I say let Skenes decide behind closed doors who he wants behind the plate

He is absolutely incredible at framing pitches. It very well could’ve been the difference tonight, everything within a glove of the plate is getting called a strike which is huge when you have guys who don’t have overpowering stuff and need to keep it on the black. He’s basically the opposite of Travinski in that regard. He needs to be on the field, about my only grievance with Jay this year is that I completely disagree with valuing offense over defense at the catcher position. It’s just too important

Totally agree that Milazzo has been a huge improvement on defense, but with Skenes pitching, you can probably afford to go with Travinski and replace him with Milazzo later in the game. It would also give Milazzo a rest after two straight games. JJ made the right call the last two games, I trust him to do the same tomorrow.

Meanwhile Wake's catcher blew big a-hole all game. Loving our chances tomorrow!

If we can tolerate Thompson, we should retire Milazzo’s jersey.
