377 chances combined, 5 errors combined (Milam 4 of those, Kurland 1)

Kurland 163 chances, Milam 214.

I can't wait to see that in action. Park at 3B I'd guess, who can also make electric defensive plays. Or Ruckert.

Just fix catching woes.

That's some part of it sure, but we were abysmal behind the plate regardless of the pitching.

Dropped balls in mits, couldn't block fairly routine balls in the dirt, etc.

god having a good defensive infield again will be so refreshing.

I know the walks and shitty pitching really hurt but that was only made 10000x worse by how bad the defense was.

any reasonable improvement in pitching COMBINED with better defense makes a huge increase in keeping runs down

That's not even touching the poor receiving/framing issues and underwhelming pitching staff management by our catcher corps.

I expect a big jump next season from Omar but then again I expected the same jump defensively from Cade this season and it really didn't materialize. We have got to get better behind the plate next season.

Where are you seeing that? LSU's websites shows Milam as having 4 errors last season.

I think it’s 5 errors in 377 chances.

Milam had 4 errors in 214 chances, Kurland with 1 in 163 chances. SO combined that's 5 in 377 chances (.987)

Agree, I want to get a catcher and move Serna to first. One more elite OF, and three more arms and I’ll feel really good about things.

If Ruckert doesn't win the 3B position it wouldn't surprise me to see him get a shot at the outfield.

The defense should be much improved. We have plenty of talented bats its just a matter of Jay finding the right lineup.

No, I think he means guys that actually catch balls that hit them in the mitt!
