If Myles doesn't start he will transfer and suddenly your QB room is a sophmore and a freshman. If it is remotely close Myles will get the nod just to make sure he stays.

Brennan leaves early to go pro?

In what sport?

He has graduated and this will be his 5th year at LSU.

He will put up big stats and has an NFL level arm. He can make an NFL roster and if/when it doesn't work out, he'll go into the workforce I assume.

If he plays well this season, there isn't really a reason to stick around. He is who he is.

Agree that Brennan will be starter but I put both Detiiler and Finebaum in the same boat- blowhard talking heads ! Neither played a down of football ! The exception is that Finebaum knows that and usually stays away from trying to be a Coach off the field and tell his listeners how certain players techniques are all wrong! Detiller has not learned that ! He thinks he’s a master evaluator of talent !

Mike D's main job (you know what he actually gets paid to do) is being a scout for NFL football teams. The Alabama redneck flunky does not get paid to evaluate players. He gets paid per idiot redneck that calls in to his idiotic redneck show

Who the hell pays him ! Do you really know ?s He’s a sportscaster, nothing more , nothing less. There is nothing in his past history or skill that places him as an expert in evaluating talent as a Coach or Player. He’s just an observer like the rest of us. Everyone can have opinions, but when you try to set yourself apart as an expert talent evaluator and critique technique etc.!- that’s overstepping unless you have the background and skills to do that. Detiller is a sportscaster with observations and opinions- that’s all . No credibility as an evaluator of football skill and talent.

That is a ridiculous idea and reason to select a starting QB.
If Brennan can't separate himself from the other QBs he doesn't deserve to start. Period. He has been here much longer. I've been a Brennan supporter from the start, but if its dead even, I would start Johnson.

Brennan was on pace to have a great year before the injury.

Please explain how you arrived at this conclusion. Please explain his completion percentage in critical situations. Please explain why the competition level he competed against allowed you to arrive at this conclusion.

I keep seeing this, but damn. He didn’t play ANYONE worth a shite on defense. He didn’t have all that much experience when he played those teams.

not the way it works. Coaches are under extreme pressure to win. They don't decide who starts at the most important position based on who might transfer.

They pick the guy that gives them the best chance to win. End of story.

Maybe with the weight gain he is sturdier and more confident in the pocket?

I really hope Max Johnson is the starter. He finished the season playing extremely well, including a big win over highly-ranked Florida on the road. IMO, I like Brennan but there's just something missing. It seemed to me that the team really came together when Johnson was in there and team chemistry is huge in winning games, especially in the SEC West!

Max starts and better fits what we want to do. Mobility and touch on intermediate passing is the key.

If mobility is "key" why did Johnson have so little yards coming out of hs? He had a good Sr season with out rushing for very many yards. Brennan broke Mississippi's passing record and still ran for 4x's what Johnson rushed for.

LSU has 3 QB's that may play in the NFL. All have what it takes to win big at LSU.

Anyone that says Brennan isn't talented enough to start simply doesn't know football or just fell in love.

I agree totally, especially with all the off the field stuff going on with O. He needs to win a lot of games so picking the right QB is crucial.

I’m reasonably sure that if you asked Peej today, he’d claim that he predicted it when JB transferred in from oSU.

Your caveat relative to acid might render this point moot.

Detillier also said Russell Shepard was the second coming of Percy Harvin. He throws enough garbage out so he’s bound to be right about something eventually.

As did Vegas and every person who usually gets this close to right pre season. DO you have a point?
