It's not that they don't have the players but they are always out of place and lack technique. Basically he said this is all on the coaches cause no one is getting better or they are regressing.

He’s exactly right. They are far from the best talent we’ve had in the past but this is mostly on poor coaching.

It's what happens when you don't have a defensive line coach

Detillier blows where the wind goes, gives zero inside information and has been a fraud for 30 years. Ray Charles could see that this is the worst defensive line we have had since Hallman.

He's right. The talent is bad, but it's not this bad.

Well, isn’t his boy Pete, the greatest of all time dline coaches, coaching them?

THIS! Our opponent, sadly, this past Saturday is a great example of what coaching and scheming can do from an early season loss to TX and near loss to USF.
We have done NONE of this all season with a front 7 that has experience and has the talent to play better. It is profound and inexcusable at this level.

Agree. JJ is the best there because of his quickness. The others are playing as if they were pulled from the stands. Can’t shed blocks and forget the bull rush. They gust stick to the blockers and watch Milroe run around the ends because we can’t and never set the edge to force the runner inside. Yes it’s the worst I’ve ever seen and MS is the worst of the worst!

I counted 9 plays through 3 quarters where we either had 2 guys in the same gap our rushed past the QB not being disciplined. To continue having players in the same Gap is 100% on Coaching. This happens so constantly every game. The defensive staff either isn't teaching/correcting this or is doing a poor job explaining each players roles and responsibilities.

The entire defense is bad. DB tackling was terrible

Some real insight there. Was he not a huge Special Ed supporter?

I get that's not something you expect to happen, but you have to wonder why Kelly's answer to that was to bring in a guy that has no experience coaching DL.

I don’t think the defensive line coach is in charge of calling the defense, making halftime adjustments, and coaching linebackers.

The DE's rushing around the edge and getting behind the QB shouldn't happen with a running QB. That is bad coaching or undisciplined. How many times did this happen, giving a wide open lane for Milroe to get into the secondary. It was inexcusable.

Through 3 quarters I counted 9 times. Their best defensive rep was the 3rd down on the first possession. It was the only time Perk stopped when he got even with Milroe and then closed the gap and disengaged the tackle and made the sack. After that he just tried to ghost move the tackle and got pushed past Milroe every time. It was very disappointing to not see any adjustments by our staff in the pass rush approach.
