Might as well get used to it

The one time transfer rule if enforced will slow it a little bit but if a highly rated player is not seeing meaningful playing time within 1/2 years they are likely moving on
LSU is going to lose players like Tolan and Howard every single year but they will also get players under the same circumstance
No team is immune to this anymore
Gone are the days of players waiting 2/3 years to play meaningful snaps and waiting their turn
Look at Drew Sanders from Bama who was starting, got hurt, lost job to freshman and left for Arkansas to get playing time and now will be a first round pick

I don’t know why this thread even needs to be started any more. If you watch college football with any regularity and interest, the current transfer world is not a surprise. I don’t understand the melting on here about it at this point.

Melting? Sounded like a well stated OP.

Tolan was getting playing time. Auburn just backed in the brinks truck

That's cool. I still don't expect QBs to leave after one season. Any other position I understand it a bit better.
Howard has not been at LSU for a full year and he's gone.

Another thing to look at as well is watch how many players start following their assistants if they get new jobs or head coach jobs
Look at the key players that followed Riley to USC
Position coaches are in the foxhole everyday with players
Someone like Demouy Kennedy who just left Bama probably ends up at Ole Miss with Golding

I didn’t say the OP was melting. I’m pointing out that we have to repetitively see the same type of thread because the ones melting still can’t grasp the current landscape and it seems crazy that they can’t at this point.

Tolan was a little bit of a different situation. He was playing and was most likely going to be starting next season. That 100% was NIL based.

I don’t care. These coaches are making millions. It’s on them to Lear how to deal with the current standing of college football. It’s their job and it’s why they are overpaid for doing it.
The bottom line, this isn’t going to change anything about college football. The same 10 or so teams that have won championships recently will be the same 10 or so teams to continue to win them. Sure, you may get an outlier here and there, but it’s always going to be the same few teams.

When they make the new rule nobody can transfer until after 2 years that will fix a lot.

The transfer rule will just make it hard to have quality depth...if a guy loses his job or thinks he is as good as 1st string he will be gone...
LSU will hurt and benefit from this so i am not worried about it at all...it does give those people an opportunity to try again

Everytime Fowler comes on "player x the transfer from school y" has really taken over as the leader on this team

Agreed, just the way it is.
Will create more parity to a certain extent. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Tolan was strictly an NIL casualty. He was either gonna start or play a ton as the #3 guy

There are exceptions.
