Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune Bears correspondent) writes that, of all the Bears' UFAs, Ford has the best chance of making the final 53 man roster as a change of pace back. By contrast, Lonergan is an extreme longshot.
I cannot tell you how hard I will be rooting for Ford.

He brought his pastor from Baton Rouge with him up to Leesville for draft day......how many others can say that?

Why not start a thread about all the former LSU players reporting to rookie camp? Ok, so you know the guy, but does he really need the extra encouragement?

what extra attention? you mean a whole thread on TD, that ppl can selectively ignore. Every LSU guy in the NFL's progress will be tracked on TD don't worry

Ford should be able to play special teams.
Nope! Sorry, but Ford's not nasty enough to play the reckless positions and he's not fast or elusive enough to play with the ball in his hands. I was surprised to see him running back kicks at LSU, and with all those opportunities, he didn't do much.
His chance to make it is at RB when the field gets spread. Look for him to make a practice squad; then be on the edge of rosters for three years; then back to Leesville. I hope I'm wrong, though, because he always represented LSU with class (and that's much more important than an NFL career!)

If it were me, I would choose the NFL career....Just sayin'
BTW, Good luck MF. Be careful around the op. He may be sneaking your underwear from the hamper. He loves you in a strange way.

At least he will not have to worry about the crooked New Llano Police Force anymore. Them bastards hate football players. Just sayin.

I live in nearby DeRidder, and New Llano used to definitely be a speed trap in the 1970s, 1980s, and early 1990s -- before Wal-Mart and the other businesses built there.
Michael, if you are reading this, I remember watching you help the Wampus Cats take home the Hooper Trophy.
May your best days toting the rock be ahead of you!
