It’s not BS. Fact is the McLoser contract and his assistants is paid out over the life of the contract and at 80 percent.
It’s also true that if someone which some mid major will hire MM the buyout is further decreased.
The amount of cash due immediately is going to be whatever the new coaches buyout is at the time of hiring and that could be something paid out over time as well depending on the contract.
So sure it’s 10MM to fire McLoser and his boys but that’s over three years and has a lot of offsets. The cash due in the next year is like 3.5MM but we are paying that one way or another with MM. he is a sunk cost

You must suck at reading financials which isn’t a shock, a quick google search shows:
9.95 MM in revenue 9.5MM in expenses so a 450k profit mainly increase in revenue from ticket sales for 2019.
Oh which by the way was under the old media rights deal.
