This is simply not true. Wade knows how to coach. You don't have the record he has and not know what you're doing. He's turned every program around that he's been at. Is he perfect? Well, no. He has his flaws like many coaches do, but he has proven he knows how to turn a program around. People also forget just how young he still is. He started at LSU when he was in his 30's. There is still plenty of time for him to get even better.
He has some good traits but he won with talent more so than scheme. The challenge today is getting talented players that will buy into a disciplined system.

What are you talking about?

You do realize they lost 2 of their best players to injury right? Such a quick judgement. They shot 50% from the field, and missed like 7 straight shots in the 2nd half. That was the difference in the game. Is MM out there bricking shots? No. Is MM out there turning the ball over? No
Again, LSU played as good as they could play. He gets another year. BTW, IF they clip him, people like you will be bitching and moaning about how expensive it is to go see a basketball game, due to burning money md buying out contracts. Cant have your cake and eat it too.

Fundamental ball with talented players would dominate. Players of today or more one on one players. I am a fan of a motion offense with crisp/sharp passing with an inside outside game against zones.

I'm not mad at all. Just a realist. Lsu has never taken mens basketball program seriously in years. Wrong people have been making bad decisions for a VERY long time. Thats the problem. Can't tell that to morons because many of them have a knee jerk reaction, and don't look at the flip side. They just want the university, and its donors to burn money every few years. I thought the Tigers played hard today. Go look and see how much cash UK spent on NIL. I'd be pretty aggravated after this season's results.

Guards win games in the tournament. 80% of the teams play the same way. No low post game, have tall lanky, raw talent throwing up bricks and handling the ball. Kentucky has been doing it for years. They are a prime example. Villanova, Duke UConn,, Florida, all have/ had good guard play, who can dish the rock, and handle the ball. That's what wins games.

A Dean Smith or Bobby Knight team would kill most modern teams.

I’d love to run something like that but nobody runs motion offenses anymore because of the reduced shot clock.

Post injury Reed was not one of their best players. He was a 6 or 7th man. Even if they had Thomas, they may have finished 5-13 instead of 3-15. They got blown off the floor by Texas Tech and the highlight non conference win was against the 11th place ACC team that you played in your back yard. I also recall Thomas being present and playing 28 minutes when they got their shite pushed in by an atrocious Mississippi St team
Turning the ball over is absolutely a coaching issue. You failed to instill the discipline to take care of the basketball. There is a 4 year sample size that proves this dude is not cut out to win in this league. Not when you lose 5 games by 4 points or less. Thats not a deficiency of talent. Its piss poor late game management

Pea brained posters like that don’t understand what you’re saying. He’ll just take DJs stats vs HS level comp, add them to box scores and claim that would be the outcome of any given game. I call it Lego logic, it’s toddler level thinking.

Florida is dominating teams with average guards.
Again, you have no clue what you are talking about
ETA: Just to make sure I'm not crazy, I checked. Florida has the 4th most turnovers in the SEC. That does not scream "handling the ball"

Id be even more aggravated to have a clueless coach with a 17-55 SEC record in 4 years. Pope is bad but McClown makes him look like John Wooden!

Remember that time Will Wade made it past the sweet 16 in the tournament?
I don’t either

He’s still trying to convince people that McMahon is better than Wade if only Jalen Reed hadn’t gotten hurt. We’ve never seen this level of stupidity before. Maybe short term reactionary stuff but never 4 straight years of absolute lunacy. Think about it, McMahon has a far worse record than Hallman, have you ever seen anyone claim Hallman is better than Charlie Mack or Bill Arnsparger? It’s an unprecedented level of stupidity from this group.

How many times has McClown even gone to the NCAA tournament at LSU.....it's not hard to add that up!
Posted on 3/11/26 at 7:45 pm to lsuson
Wow, that's the standard? Get past the Sweet 16?
Posted on 3/11/26 at 7:47 pm to Me
Its been what 11 years now since even Kentucky made it past the Sweet 16?
These dudes would be kissing the feet of any other coach that had 4 straight tournament teams
