goes back on Kelly, his job here is to coach this team and get us back in the hunt, not to pad the retirement accounts of his cronies

Kelly and House didn’t know each other and hadn’t worked together before. Kelly tried to hire Brad White from UK and he wasn’t interested in leaving his gig. He recommended House, who had been his former boss there.

But don’t let facts get in the way of your rambling bullshite.

didn't deserve to get canned sooner?

What the frick are you talking about? There was nothing about the defense in 2022 that was getting him fired, as much as we all hated what happened in 23. It was middle of the pack in the SEC with a completely rebuilt secondary and one of our best players was lost in game one.

House didn’t have to adjust his scheme much in 22 because he had a lot of experienced players who could handle it. We had three very experienced secondary guys who knew how to play zone, which we didn’t have in 23. House’s problem was that he couldn’t adjust his scheme to a younger roster worth anything. He obviously lost the locker room when things started to go south. He doesn’t have any business in college football if he can’t deal with young players.

agreed, but this is a discussion board and I will discuss, had Kelly taken action earlier(probably in the off season before last year, ) we might be the reigning national champs, with any semblance of a defense last year we probably would have run the table, again, this is my $.02 and this is what this place is for

A head coach who fires a DC who overachieved compared to the roster and pre-season expectations after one season at a new program isn’t making a good replacement hire because no one worth a damn wound trust him after bullshite like that. Your hindsight arguments make absolutely no sense.

Could Kelly have made a better hire- sure. If Freeman hadn’t been promoted at ND, it would have been him, and that would have been a home run. But he prioritized finding someone who had previous SEC success. House did for a couple of seasons at UK.

There is a book coming out explaining it all and what happened at half time in 2011 in the locker room during the NC game.

That fricking Ego Possessed Demonic Clown Pennywise and his wretched excess difficult to learn and execute scheme, absolutely cost LSU a National Championship last season.

Wingo is waging a one-man war on Matt House and I think Tiger Nation is 100% behind him in this effort.

Certainly not. I’m not behind him “waging a war” on Matt House, and the poster right above you, who posted, “It’s time to let it go”, isn’t either.

I’m sure Matt House tried his best; he just came up short. There is no reason to hate him.

When Brandon Taylor, who played in the NFL, says repeatedly that he doesn’t know what they’re running or what they’re even trying to do you know the DC was lost.

Brandon Taylor has some of the highest Football IQs he should be a DC. Those comments about not knowing what is being run was beyond jaw dropping to illustrate just how poor everything was handled last year.
