can you list these games we've won/lost? sounds too bad to be true

I just looked it up myself because it sounded too bad to be true:

Wins:
2008 Georgia Tech, 2010 Mississippi State (for now)

Losses:
2008 Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Ole Miss
2009 Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, Penn State
2010 Auburn

It's possible that West Virginia could be another ranked win by the end of this year. Obviously, Alabama and Arkansas are ranked opponents yet to be played.

This is a problem that bars many from being intelligent. To get ahead in life you have to take risks, sticking with the status quo never gets people ahead in life nor football. The ever present quest to improve is important in both, unless you'd rather not improve.

You have to be careful with that is all i'm saying. There's a Catch 22. You don't have to take risks to be successful in life or football. I went to college and have a job and I'm pretty successful. Success is elusive. It's ever changing. You never really get there.

So what I'm saying is the LSU football has been pretty successful under Les Miles, it's just that he's hit a bump in the road, like all coaches do. Spurriur, Mack Brown, Bowden, Paterno, Meyer, etc. have had down periods, but it's how you come back from them that counts. Name me a coach or team that has had sustained success for more than 10 years? And I guess you would define success as 10, 10 win seasons?

Auburn, Georgia and Arkansas would all have finished ranked last year if they had beaten us. Ole Miss wouldn't have been ranked if we would have beaten them.

Edit: Florida, West Virginia and maybe UNC are all ranked this year if they beat us.

There are no constants or guarantees. You took a risk going to college. You took a risk driving to work. You took a risk taking the job you have. You would not be successful if you did not take risks. Success is elusive, it does change, and saying you'll never really get there should impose that drive, should it not? Unless you would rather stay in that cozy chair when you get off work.

Maybe you're one of those people that worked hard to get where they're at and then decided to take it easy, who knows, but the goal is to be the best you can possibly be, and that's something that, if not possible, surely demeans the journey. If not, what's the point then?

You don't have to take risks to be successful in football? Are you serious? Do you not watch football games? IT'S FULL OF RISK! LOL. Calculated risks possibly, but it's full of risk. I'm not sure how you can make that type of statement, since it's completely false and any football coach on any level will tell you that's completely false.

Do you have to be careful what you wish for? Sure you do. But you'll never be able to wish if you're too careful.

I want you to ask Boise State if 10 win seasons are counted as successful. See what those fans will tell you. I think you'll be surprised. Same for TCU fans, Utah fans. Even other major programs. Success is defined differently for different people. Respect, however, is a little harder to come by than success.

I usually jump on people about misusing medicore but in this case, yep that is mediocre without question. Yikes

No it's not...they had a shitty 2008...everybody knows that. This lsu mafia guy is a complete tool on here, honestly a stupid mother fricker. EVERYBODY knows lsu had a bad 2008. Since then they are 16-4.....with close losses to three teams in the top 4 in the nation......That's a fricking 80% winning % since that bad 2008....and in every single game. WHEN they beat bama next week (and they will), and follow that up with an ole miss win, they will have beaten Florida, Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, Tenn, Ole Miss, Miss State and vandy over the past two season...or every single SEC team they have played since 2008. It's ignorant tools, kids, like lsu mafia that makes this site fricking laughable at times....he has absolutely no clue....think about it, when they beat alabama and ole miss, they will have beaten every fricking sec team they have played since 2008....and will be 19-4 and ranked about 5th in the nation....complete fricking tool lsu mafia....along with josh, and several other young punks.

and this is acceptable?

When did we become God's gift to college football to the point that we look down our nose at Capital One bowl invites, 16-4 records in our last 20 regular season games while playing in the SEC, a current 7-1 record, and a current Top 12 NR?

Sometimes when I come here I think I must have been a coma and missed LSU football winning 4 straight BCS titles with the way some come across in their entitlement mode.

We loss to the team ranked #1 in the BCS poll at their place by a TD. I hate it, but it happens. Just ask Bama, Oklahoma, and Ohio St.

Lot of football still to play and I'm not in a hurry give up on this team. I look at 7-1 and a #12 NR as not a bad thing or mediocre, but each to our own.

"Success" is defined far, FAR differently by fans than it is by players and coaches...you know the guys putting in the long hours, bleeding and sweating for the program, and the team? I'd bet my next 3 paychecks that anybody that would come online and say anything less than a NC isn't a success, wouldn't have the nuts to say that to a player on that team.

Just out of curiosity, why are we looking at only the worst two years of Miles' LSU career? Not to mention, why are you using final season rankings? Experts use the rankings at the time the game is played, and for good reason (the whole gameday dynamic is changed, not to mention the game itself affects both team's rankings).

You're trying too hard man. Just enjoy the ride. It will come to an end at some point, and you'll never even realize that you missed it all.

This gets old. The Les Miles hate is stupid. We've had some down yrs. It happens. No team is on top forever. But we have a coach that our players love, and a coach that are helping our players succeed in life. How many of our players have been arrested recently. Toliver for a fight, T-bob for a DUI. All in all, CLM is running a good, clean program. We are graduating players, and guys are coming in as boys and leaving as men. I'm damn proud of that. Winning is everything, and CLM players go on to win in life.

I think you'd be surprised that the definition of success for a player is a lot higher than it is with a lot of fans. Ask Kelvin someday. Ron and Sam certainly aim higher than a lot of fans on here do, and for good reason.

that's why you use WHEN you played a team....once you beat their arse, they fall....but you can't explain that to these kids...they don't get it..or they don't want to get it is more likely...again, 16-4 regular season since 2008, and after wins over bama and ole miss coming...and they are coming, lsu will have beaten every single sec team it has played since 2008.......so frick the negatigers.

No it's not.

5-7 Auburn was a bad team. You can't say at the end of the season that you beat a great #9 ranked team.

Why is that stat good? I'd rather LSU do that in one season.

This right here, more than anything said in this thread so far, says all we need to know about how these young punks minds function...they have absolutely no clue what's good and how damn good that is in a conference like the sec....completely clueless....if they live long enough, maybe one day they will gain some wisdom and perspective.

Sorry. Did not read all of the posts on this thread as I was watching FSU choke. However, I would note that in addition to all of the losses to ranked teams, I would point out that almost invariably those games were on national television. It does wonders for the perception of LSU.
