Mediocre is 2 - 9 versus ranked teams over the last 2.5+ seasons

Looking at end of the season polls and the current polls for this week, LSU is 2-9 versus ranked opponents in its last 11 games under Miles.
I am sorry. That is mediocrity and is only 2-9 right now because MSU is barely in the top 25.
If LSU loses to Bama and Arkansas, it can easily be likely that LSU will have at most 1 regular season win in 3 years against top 25 teams.
LSU's record could be 1-10 in the last 3 regular seasons at best if we lose those 2 games.
If UGA beats UF on Saturday, and this is very possible, our only hope for another top 25 team is WVU, which may not get back in.
I am sorry, but that is the definition of mediocre given the $11.253 Million Les will have pocketed over those 3 years, and not to mention the other $1.4 Million Crowton will have pocketed.
Just wow.

58-15. He's a good family man.

Did the Auburn game not count? Les has 16 losses.

I usually jump on people about misusing medicore but in this case, yep that is mediocre without question. Yikes

Oh, thank goodness! Another thread criticizing LSU's football team. Just when I thought we could be proud of our team.....

23-10 if you go by his players.

Miles should have never been hired. He was lucky to win NC, remember we had two losses and nearly lost several games that season. This is a good post showing how we are slipping as a contender. We will likely finish with a 100+ ranked offense again!

So people can't have a realistic view of what this team is? Really?
I support the team, but not Miles. It's that simple. I want and cheer for the team to win, but have little faith a Miles' coached team with talent he has fully developed without the help of Jimbo, Dunbar, Searles, Monken, etc.
Funny how the team has lost in development in key areas since those guys have left. DL is getting better, but realistically, people act like those guys teaching the same accountability and focus from 2000-2006 were not there for Miles first two years.
Again, lacking faith in the coach and not buying his BS doesn't mean you don't support the players. I think we have very good talent on this team, but it is underdeveloped and in some cases even negatively developed under Miles and his coaches. I see a lot of "energy/pep" from the players, but no true leadership on a consistent basis. That starts with the HC.

4 million a year for those results .......
Miles is a genius. He conned us out of the big bucks.

Well, this is why the case of 8-4 or 9-3 not being mediocre because you have 8 or 9 wins is a farce. If you look deeper at reality, LSU is winning against average to mediocre teams and not beating good teams.
MSU is our only regular season win against a ranked team in 2.5+ years now and they need to likely go 3-1 the rest of the season to stay ranked against Bama, Arkansas, UK, and Ole Miss. I don't think they'll do it.
Just wait though as someone will sure state "We have an X-Y record against bowl teams" when there are like 70 teams out of 120 making a bowl now.

Oh and Miles is making about $5 Million/win against a top 25 team over the last 2.67 years as of right now.

He is 7-9 over the last 3.5 seasons

So we are now counting the NC year to try and make it look better?
Posted on 10/28/10 at 9:32 pm to LSUMafia
I'm not gonna take issue that you view the team is mediocre. That's a subjective term. Facts can be mustered on both sides of the question but it still comes down to a matter of opinion and you are certainly welcome to yours.
I will say that I've always felt that opposing team's ranking when you play them is perhaps a more logical gauge than their record at the end of the year. So much can change over a year - players get hurt, get kicked off the team, etc. etc. Heck, the very fact that you beat a team causes their ranking to fall and can contribute to them being out of the rankings.(even limiting the rankings to the top 25 is somewhat subjective - I'm not sure if the BCS poll stops there but I guess technically it could be that every team is ranked - the certainly do it for things like offense and defense as we know from our low passing rankings).

Why only count the "bad" years when judging a coach?
Posted on 10/28/10 at 9:34 pm to Methuselah
That's not possible, we've beaten 3 ranked teams (UNC, WVU, UF) this year. Fix your post.

2.67 years? Now that's a nice round number that I'm sure wasn't used to bolster a point.
