Sage was with the 2s at cb not the starters

“Started” at cb I think he’s referring to his position as opposed to nickel

1st team DBs were zy and chestnut at cb

This is absolutely inaccurate

Why do y’all think the Daniels stats are bad , Including his runs and at least two drops? I don’t really get that. Take away drops and he’s 8-11 for 100 yards or so I’m just a few drives

All I took from it is sage is the 3rd cb but also the starting nickel, if that makes sense

Brooks starting at Nickel right?

Sunnydaze is spewing out bad info.

Sage & Zy were starting CBs. Other 3 starters were Brooks, Burns, & Sam.

When they went to a 6 DB package, they brought in Duce & Sage moved inside.

Now since Sage had a shoulder injury, Duce is back in front. I think Sage will be back for FSU though.

3 drops. 9/11 sound better?
Stats are a whore who will serve any master.
Maybe get a bit of perspective before you commit suicide over isolated scrimmage stats.

Believe that would be Brooks.

I don't think his stats were bad. As BK has indicated, he has two winning QBs. We probably will need both before the season is over.
No one will have a clue until after the first game.
I would be elated if Daniels leads us to an undefeated season. If he is injured, like last season, I hope Nuss can continue the success.

I'm not convinced he's going to be ready to make much of an impact against FSU. He may get out there but as much as he's been sidelined, I'm not convinced the conditioning is going to be there out there consistently.

Physically, with a minor ankle sprain, he'll be fine with 2 weeks to heal. Tape it up and send him out.

More worried about the mental side of the injuries. Can't afford to have that in the back of his head holding him back.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking. Burns and Sam at safeties and Brooks at Nickel in those sets.

I think Brooks is set to be one of LSU's most impactful players this year.

I don’t think Sage was ever in front of Duce even though he started there yesterday. They just moved him to CB and probably wanted to get him some 1st team reps to catch him up and see what he could do against 1st team WRs. But they moved a lot of guys around on 1st team. Brooks started at nickel with Burns and Sam at safety. Then they switched Brooks and Sam. And they moved Burns into the box some.

I think they’re still experimenting with what guys can do what 1) in case of injury, but 2) so House can be creative and move the starters around to give opponents different looks with the same personnel. I think with this being House’s 2nd year and with much more depth at DL and LB than last year and having 2 vets/leaders at safety in Brooks and Burns, House is going to be much more creative this year with his looks and where he brings pressure from.

But back to Sage, even if he’s back Tuesday, I don’t think there’s any question that Alexander and Chestnut will be the 1st 2 CBs who run out against Florida State.

Not good when any DB bangs up their shoulder - hope it gets healed up.

Other than that, I’m seeing they only ran just over 40 plays.

Didn’t Kelly say they were looking to run 60-70?

Am I missing something?

I think it’s very likely that LSU will have a great deal more team success over the next ten years than over the 10 prime Miles years, while putting far fewer elite corners in the NFL.

Maybe, but regardless of the Sage/Duce debate. I think it’s safe to say Zy Alexander will be our best CB. Him and Andre Sam will both make an impact for us in the secondary.

Guys y’all are putting entirely too much stock into first and second teams right now. During the season the first team and second team will be mixed and matched accordingly. Especially in the secondary. We will see some LBs in coverage on certain plays with 2 corners and 2 safeties. We will see 3 safeties and 2 corners with 1 or 2 Linebackers at times. We will see 3 linebackers with 3 DBs at times. We might even see 4 linebackers with 4 DBs.

All this first team second team BS is just BS and the head coach even said he thinks people put too much stock into setting a first team and second team roster. All that does is confuse people even more. All these guys will play, some might rotate in or out more to start the season and as the season goes we’ll see more of the style D that works best all around and others that work best in situations but there is no way to guess who or what that will look like until they start playing. You’re simply grasping at thin air if you say or think this person is going to play over this other guy right now. Hell we could see Harris make a huge jump after 3-4 games and he could take one of the spots.
