Hell yea they have... you gotta be a pretty cranky POS to shite on bowl season... it's extra college football...who cares what it means or dosent...college football is supposed to be enjoyable, not a buisness transaction.

See yall at NRG!

I am also a Toledo fan and trust me, that game meant something-and I’m not talking about the outcome. Playing on national tv against a power opponent is always fire.

The opt outs are what changed the higher tier bowl games. The NY6 games were great and meant something from a conference prestige standpoint. But when players started the opt out BS it really killed the energy of those games. Now it’s a chance to see young guys get some PT and compete.

The whole "meaningless " narrative is bullshite that people tell themselves to temper expectations and/or have something to bitch about.

The reality is the game counts.

It affects the final W/L record.

It affects the final rankings.

It goes in the record books.

It affects the perception of the coach. (You better believe everyone who says it's meaningless will be the first to crucify him if we lose)

And it just feels better to go out on a win.

The vast majority of people claiming they are meaningless never played or coached. It means something to the guys in the locker room. Been there, done that. Of course, it means less than a game outside the playoffs, but as with many things, casual fans over-dramatize. Some games are bigger than others, but this game is not meaningless.

I was small time and never sniffed an opportunity to play or coach at college level, but know down to my bones that I would enter any bowl game as if it were my last. I think guys like Whit Weeks and Josh Williams will give their all and deserve our support.

As a fan, I never miss an LSU football game.

It was insane how terrible that field was. I've watched footage of the game since and the camera did not do well at depicting the actual crap those boys played in. It even smelled like arse.

Correct…players were sliding on whole squares of turf!

The bowl games were always meaningless since they started.

I would suggest that those extra practices had value.

Your take is poo.

I remember reading that 5 or 6 HS championship games were played on that field the same week. Don't know when Florida does HS playoffs but that seems late in the year. Either way, it was trash.
