im telling you, i know a bunch of coaches that coach against that kid, they all said the same thing... he was physically mature for his age and just man handled smaller guys.. said he takes off plays waaaaaay more than playing hard... they all said he has no motor unless he wants to do it... Saban gonna eat his arse for two years before he sees the field... and he may quit... Think Davenport from mansfield a few years ago... 5 star bust... my brother coached against the haynesville kid... said he was legit...we can sign one or two juco guys next year along with 3/4 freshman DL... there will be plenty of spots, and the 2020 class is loaded... we got what we really needed for this year... a lockdown CB and a big time RB... thats what the immediate needs were... next season is CFP or bust... it is the most loaded elder team LSU will have for prob another 5 years

This is a good post. This class addressed every need that LSU had.

In the new age of the transfer portal, no one really knows.

This time last year, everyone was predicting Lindsey Scott was the one we let get away, we had a three-way battle at QB- and no one knew who Joe Burrow was.

So let us not panic.

We also have 2 stud 4-star DLs already committed in 2020 (and another from LA) who is definitely expected to be an LSU commit. 2020 will be (already is) a good year for LSU for DL.

Yeah

He thinks we have superstars at DT and can win big games with above average overweight players.

We need a couple of top 50 DTs in this league, not a bunch of 10 plays a game guys.

If we can win 10 or 11 games with these guys, then McKay is right. I'm not sure we can. No picks out from the gurus to win the west next season. More like 2nd , 3rd or 4th.
A&M is about to jump us for 2nd if we don't get better in the trenches.

We don’t have any room in this class to add any transfers

Damn. Sounds like a bum. Why were we even recruiting him?

If I'm to believe this article, McKay must know more about evaluating talent and the status of our defensive line than Orgeron does ...and Saban too. I mean, by the way he describes Sopsher you would think only a desperate JC would be interested in him, not the top program in the country. McKay says this is "obvious".

And he makes it sounds like our DL is not even close to being thin in 2020 but Orgeron himself said it was an area where we desperately needed to improve our recruiting.

How could Orgeron and staff be so out of touch?

Let's be honest. There was no battle. Joe transferred to play. That was always the case.

You will get downvoted, but it's true. Bama signed more 4* DL this class than LSU will have on the roster in 2020

Why do you care how many people bama signs?

Actually Bama is way down in numbers on the DL. Having signed only 2 instead of a bunch in both 2017 and 2018 and losing A BUNCH to the NFL. And not all 6 of the 2019 signees are ELITE. Some are projects like most DL's are.

We actually signed 5, forgot Hines 57 and Dare Rosenthal, which Hines could go back to DL and add a huge body. If our LT starts again this year then Dare can also play defense if needed. We are fine at DT. We just got a pledge from a good DE out of Cali which gives us 3 DT for 2020 and we need to add 2 more La studs plus 1 more out of state.

Jaquelin Roy- U-High (Committed)
CamRon Jackson- Hainsville (Committed)
Jacobian Guillory from Alexandria
Jordan Berry- Cali (Committed)

Other's from La.

Jalen Lee- DT Live Oak
Kenean Caldwell- Oak Grove

We get these 6 I would be thrilled. If we get 5 of them plus 1 out of state then great. I want min 6 but better 7 total DT/DE

Call them J-Crew

Im hoping at least 3 or 4 of these guys show something this season to calm our fears for 2020.
