I'm of the opinion that the decision was already made before the Oklahoma game. I think the purpose of the announcement was to make it known that basketball will be getting more NIL money. My hope is that was a signal to potential future coaches. I believe LSU has to show itself serious about basketball in order to attract top coaches or even serious up-and-comers. I am not convinced McMahon can be effective enough even with better talent.

The entire NIL story is 100% BS. We just lost the best in state prospect in years who’s going to be a freshman next season but we’re supposed to believe they’re committed now. Cmon, that was a sucker story.

I think the real reason to give McSuck another year is to make sure Wade goes to another school so he doesn’t have to “pass over” him on the next coaching search
