When is the last time you saw that in an LSU basketball game and it wasn't the opposing team?

Anyone in here still think this team is as good or worse than last year’s team?

13 assists on 16 made FGs

That’s how you get open shots and win ballgames

This team is drastically better than last years squad. Best team MM has had hands down.

The first half went really well.

For me, there's still some questions about the defense and obviously questions about the rebounding. It's only the first half of the first game, so hopefully they can clean it up. Considering McMahon's teams haven't really progressed much throughout the season, I'm a little concerned. That said, I'm still going to be optimistic, just a little cautious on the optimism.

Love them showing these old highlights. Anyone who doesn't think LSU basketball can be a really damn good program is a fool.

our defense is lowkey worrying me
Our full court press needs a lot of work. When we double in the halfcourt we are leaving people open. We have so much length that we should play straight up man most of the time. Selectively switch to zone.

Our strength is that we can switch 2-5 on almost anyone. And we have a lot of depth 2-5. Love that we just played "small ball" with 2 guards at 6'5" and 6'6", moved our 6'9" small forward to the 4, and had Robert Miller backing them up at the 5.

That’s usually Alabama halftime stats against us.

Thomas is just a super smart player. Doesnt take stupid shots, blocks out, and I would say a better passer than waters.
At 6'1" he doesn't give up much height yet has enough control to run a squad full of bigs.

i think it's silly to make an opinion one way or the other based on ONE HALF of basketball

10/34 from 3 in game 1 last year with little ball movement and a horrendous assist to turnover ratio. We won that game strictly by dominating the glass and making free throws. It’s not hard to see a dramatic difference.
