Absolutely he is. Seems we usually have 1 or 2 each couple of years that grow and elevate their game like himsnd times up, interested to see who will be stepping up after he's departed.

The losses at FL and GA were huge and gettable wins. We were close. Win out. Make some noise in the SECT and you never know.. But this team will be dangerous in the NIT.

Not a NIT team yet with A&M and Ole Miss unlikely to make the NCAA Tournament. They will get auto bids ahead of LSU if LSU remains behind them in the NET. Then it’s up to the NIT committee

McMahon does need to do a better job manipulating NET. Literally might have been what Wade was best at.
No reason we should be 30
Spots behind AM and 15 behind Ole Miss. Hire someone to do your schedule if you can’t figure it out.

We’re gonna be an at large bid if we win out imo

I agree with this. Wade was big on the NET ranking. A big reason why their net is so high at McNeese rn.
I really wish we had a different OOC schedule and a better NET as a result. We’d be knocking on door of the NCAAT bubble

This is the one area where I think the Wade vs McMahon folks have a legitimate argument for Wade. He knew how to schedule to manipulate NET. I hope MM starts using similar algorithms to schedule.

I think I prefer a longer run in the NIT, than lose in 1st or 2nd round of the NCAAT this season.
Would be fun to host the first game in the PMAC.

I think we are in the tournament after this W. This team has ZERO quit. Absolutely huge W!!

I agree with this, but it’s an unpopular opinion

You aren’t rationale. Our OOC schedule was fine. Dayton, North Texas, Wake, K-St, UT were all very quality opponents. The loss vs Nicholls cost us 10-15 spots in NET. Simple as that. Still not a tourney team avoiding that Q4 loss. Would’ve taken winning 2-3 of Dayton (buzzer beater), @UGA, @FLA and vs A&M and it’s a very different profile with 2-3 more quad 1 wins and obviously impact on W-L record

Other teams played weak ooc and were ranked earlier in the year. I think the whole NET argument is overrated if you can finish in the top 7 or 8 in the SEC.

Mississippi State lost to Southern and they are 50 spots higher than LSU. The Nichols loss isn’t a killer. It’s the fact that LSU doesn’t have a good road/neutral record PLUS they are terrible in the predictive metrics (KenPom, BPI, KPI, etc).
The non-conf schedule wasn’t awful. LSU just did nothing against it. And their best road win (1 point victory at USC) doesn’t register as much because USC’s metrics are much worse than their record

That’s exactly what wade did. I believe he contracted an analytics company to do it for him. Which is why the schedule seemed weaker in terms of big name schools, but always ended up looking better in the NET. I believe he mentioned it on the podcast he was doing before he was hired at Mcneese.

We are saying the same thing. Did you looks at MSU resume - they beat Arizona St, Northwestern (tourney team), Washington St (5 seed), Rutgers and North Texas on neutral floor and then beat Tennessee and Auburn at home.
