Feds need to take a hard look at that police dept. Would NOT surprise me if they are seizing vehicles, cash, and belongings on the basis of those bogus "shake-up" tests.

If LEOs were held to the same standards of professionalism that most people are, there would either be a whole lot less of them or there would be fewer bad cops and better pay for the good ones.

It sounds like the cop tried to frame him until he found out he was arresting a college football qb and realized this would make national news so they're backtracking now.

here will forever be news articles on the internet saying this guy was arrested for cocaine. That blows.

And there’s a scary amount of people who will always believe the first narrative no matter what once it comes out while also never bothering to read past a headline.

I am very "pro law enforcement", but there is a small percentage of the LEO population that is overzealous and power hungry (if not downright dangerous). The problem with even a small percentage of these people in a position of power is they have the ability move outside their prescribed scope of influence and ruin peoples lives.

I wish the police unions around the country would be more proactive in weeding this small group of people out of law enforcement.

From a legal perspective, the substance they found did not test positive for being a drug. Just an overzealous cop

Didn't realize Ga Southern was running that Dodge Charger program like the Tide

Werts was driving to his grandmother's house in Clinton when officers pulled him over for speeding. According to the Saluda County Sheriff's Office, Werts waited five minutes to stop his 2016 Dodge Charger.

Like a lot of things out there it’s pretty systematic.

Cop uses bogus field test to search car/make arrest

DA uses BS arrest to get a plea

Fee Money goes to the county

Elected officials get to say they are tough on crime

You nailed it! There is probably tons of shady stuff going on in that little town, they don't want the attention, better to cut their losses and make this one go away.

Saw this coming, from a legal perspective unless the cop caught him throwing it out, there's no way they could prove it was theirs if it was on the outside of the car.

This is so laughably wrong. "Possession" is not moronically defined.

"Yeah dude, just throw it outside on the window, it's like, legal, or something, like they can't prove it, ya know."

Their QB was working while wed had air conditioning.
Thus, at least in Ouachita Parish, La. he enjoys immunity from prosecution.

Only because of TEPPER. We were highly talented, and went into that game ranked #6.

We averaged like 36 ppg on offense, but gave up like 38 ppg on defense.

Field drug kits are notorious for false positives.
