Yes he will, King is trash, freshman qb coming in ain’t starting.

King will 100% be the starter. He was the starter this year until he got hurt and by all accounts is Jimbo's guy.

It's so satisfying that his last play as a Tiger was a miracle TD pass to beat A&M.

ETA: you just know his last play as an Aggy is going to come in a loss to LSU.

GOOD riddance!

terrible accuracy, awareness, pocket presence, threw while backpedaling. had a terrible deep ball. have fun faggie!

brennan at least has accuracy and a arm. will have to work on his reads/awareness but he was coming along fine before injury. brennan can run RPO also. he did it with E and linehan. we will beat his arse this year.

Max isn't guaranteed to win the job. This is puzzling.

I think by the end of things, his little brother didn't want to go to LSU and chose A&M. Max is transferring so they can play together. They were always a package deal, even if Max isn't starting.

The Johnson’s are mercenaries and go wherever they can get what they want. Not sure what they want from tamu but they’re getting something.
Maybe it’s about the brother…
Not sure really but I don’t think Max is going to be the starter here next year.

Given O's lack ability to develop a QB, I expect he'll get better under Jimbo. Not great but better.

Give me the list of Jimbo QBs that have improved or had a measure of success under his coaching.

Good. Not they can watch him hold the ball forever and a day and take a fricking sack.

I though he didn’t want to compete? Looks like a big middle finger to everyone who repeated this lie.

Bold move, Max.

Again, the narrative is he left to avoid competition. So which is it?

You guys are overtly negative, irrational, and delusional at times. Just some few years ago we would have sacrificed a running back to have a quarterback throw for 2,815 yards, 27 touchdowns, and merely 6 interceptions. We would have won multiple championships with the defenses we had. And now he's "soft" despite deplorable offensive line, and will just "sit the bench" at another school. Be fair, folks.

Good luck to him. He is, however, Tiger Bait.

Those stats are volume over substance

Max Johnson in 2021:
225 for 373 (60.3%), 2815 yards, 7.5 ypa, 27 TDs, 6 INTS, 144.4 passer rating.

Danny Etling at LSU:
2017: 165 for 275 (60.0%), 2463 yards, 9.0 ypa, 16 TDs, 2 INTs, 153 passer rating.
Career at LSU: 325 for 544 (59.7%), 4586 yards, 8.4 ypa, 27 TDs, 7 INTs, 144.4 passer rating

Zach Mettenburger:
2013: 192 for 296 (64.9%), 3082 yards, 10.4 ypa, 22 TDs, 8 INTS, 171.4 passer rating.

Jordan Jefferson:
2009: 182 for 296 (61.5%), 2166 yards, 7.3 ypa, 17 TDs, 7 INTs, 137.2 passer rating.

Sophomore Max Johnson has lower completion percentage, and slightly better passer rating and yards per attempt than sophomore year Jordan Jefferson.
