Link to On3 Bio.
quote:

Coming out of Watkinsville (Georgia) Prince Avenue Christian, Max Johnson was ranked as a four-star prospect the nation's No. 22 quarterback recruit, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He signed with LSU in the 2020 recruiting class and he appeared in six games and made two starts for the Tigers. Johnson would then go on to start all 12 games in the 2021 season for LSU before entering the transfer portal and ending up at Texas A&M. Johnson saw action in the 2022 season for the Aggies, but he had to bide his time before eventually being named the starter. After being elevated to the starter, Johnson led the Aggies to victories over Auburn and Arkansas with impressive showings. Johnson's patience impressed the A&M coaching staff. "At the time when he didn’t win the job in August, he couldn’t have got in the portal anyway. But he wouldn’t have went anyway," Jimbo Fisher said. "That’s not who he is. He’s gonna sit there, compete and play and do the things he’s gotta do.” During Johnson's high school career, he threw for 5,140 yards and 47 touchdowns, adding 289 rushing yards and 14 scores.

Fans seem to be grateful for his 2 years at TAMU ( Good-Bull-Hunting Website).

Maximum Johnson suffered more for this program than most Ags ever will. We’re all bummed that he took such a wallop, and bummed that he’s leaving. But we all hope he gets to play somewhere safer for his career. Please go to a school with an OL.

He’s a pretty average college QB. Aggie was lucky to have him. They probably woulda lost 1-2 more games if Henderson started instead.

I’ve never seen a quarterback hate to be named starter so much that they transfer twice after winning the job each time.

I hope his brother enters the portal, too, and follows him- preferably outside the SEC.

Kelly probably told Johnson and his dad that an adult was in charge now and that he was bringing in an actual quarterback.

Fast forward two years and we have a Heisman finalist, while Max Johnson is back in the transfer portal.

But did you know his dad won a superbowl and his mom is the best athlete in the family because she played volleyball?

Going into the game the narrative was that Henderson was better when it was suggested LSU should have no problem beating a team playing with a 3rd string QB
