I could live with that....looks like Ott is the real deal. And Bert looked to have his stuff back today. Add Bradshaw and Byrd and i think our bullpen will be OK.

Now that I've seen Ott, I can't help but agree.
3 quality pitches. He's been consistently good. And his stuff has not only been effective but has been dominating frequently.
If the time is not now, it's soon. He's dirty.

He's got one pitch, but it's a good pitch. If he's throwing it for strikes and getting ahead in the count, he'll be effective.
However, at times, he'll put people on and give up 3 runs without recording an out.
To me, that's why he's best used in a stopper role. I don't love him being used in a setup role, especially in a close game. I'd rather him come in with a couple of runners on when you just need to pitch yourself out of a tough situation.

would Ott make the better starter though?

well, we dont know
but we do know that coleman can be a dominant starter and ott can be a dominant relief man
id just go with that

I mean next weekend is a big series so I think we stick with the the rotation listed above, just thinking down the road

good evening, and welcome to yeterday

I with you on that, I would like the see Ott make a Greg Smith move going from a reliever to weekend starter. Hopefully we bring in someone next year that will allow this to happen

he was a starter in HS, so he could start if needed
and its about time Coleman is placed in the weekend rotation. Hopefully it sticks

Just to play devil's advocate, why not start Ott and keep Louis in his current role?? Who would be a better starter...Louis or Ott?? I wouldn't be surprised if we started Ott either Tuesday or Wednesday as an audition for a possible start next weekend.

Coleman competes very hard every time he takes the mound and will do well whenever he is used. With his deceptive delivery I think he would do best coming out of the pen and not giving the opponent several times through the lineup to look at him. Out of the pen they get one look and then the game is over.

this weekends series is huge because we follow with road series at georgia and bama.i wish we could sweep but ill take 2 of 3.i guess we see matulis tuesday and byrd wednesday.1 thing we have going for us is around the georgia and bama series we have a few weeks with 1 game during the week.that might help our pitching depth.i hope byrd has another good outing.and i wish cain would get healthy.
