We can argue all day about the situation McMahon inherited and the talent level of this team. What realistic expectations were and who is responsible for the current situation.

However, if McMahon were the right guy to get this turned around, to me you’d see some fire from him at some point. Trae Hannibal got absolutely mauled last night going to the basket on what should have been an and 1. This is just one example of a million, but McMahon kind of did the arms up question move, and when a ref got near him he put his head down and said nothing.

Coaches have different styles but at some point you have to show the team you have their back and lose it on an official. Just to prove a point. It’s like McMahon is too nice for that.

Similarly, at some point when the team is playing like absolute trash, which has often been the case, you have to yank a guy (or guys) off the court and get in their face. Again, some coaches do this more often than others, but if you refuse to get after players in game, it creates a culture of laziness and lack of accountability.

If you want to say this season is meaningless and he’s just playing it out while rebuilding and doesn’t really care right now about winning and losing…I’ve never seen a successful coach mail in games with an eye on the future.

I’m mystified by how McMahon won a bunch of games at Murray St but just based on his demeanor alone, putting aside the absolutely dreadful product on the court, it’s terribly obvious this isn’t going to work at LSU. McMahon seems like a genuinely good person. As far as winning basketball at LSU, guy is just too vanilla.

You don’t have to be some looney tune on the sideline to win games. In todays college basketball you have a recruit at a respectable level and also hit on a few portal guys. Two things I’m still waiting to see if McMahon can do.

Obviously you don’t have to be a “looney tune”. You do have to show a pulse and let the team know you have their back or will chew their arse. This guy is a corpse.

I’m with you man. It’s all bad as of now. Hopefully he can pull a rabbit out of his arse and get lucky in the portal.

He doesn't have a complete lack of passion. There are plenty of valid criticisms to go around but this isn't one of them IMO.

I don’t get hung up on a coaches sideline demeanor, but I do agree with not allowing the officials to ignore obvious fouls. Even if he’s not normally vocal on the sidelines, I think getting tossed at some point during the losing streak was warranted and may have fired up the players and the crowd.

Ok…he claps at them coming off the court for every tv timeout like he’s coaching a bunch of 8 year olds to keep playing hard and having fun. It’s embarrassing IMO.

Coach K says hello…. very quietly.

As a player you shouldn’t need your coach jumping around like a cheerleader. You should be motivated enough at this level by the desire to kick your opponents butt.

And we all know how WW's theatrics endeared him to referees and got soooo many calls in LSU's favor. These guys would have run Phil Jackson out of town already.

Will Wade was a winner at LSU. Fact.

Thus far, McMoribund is a loser. He seems to have many faults. One of those is his lack of enthusiasm. That may be his style, but it appears to be detrimental. If he were winning, it would not be an issue. When the team is as bad as it is, someone needs to get there arse in gear.

Will Wade may get every win he had vacated in addition to a lengthy show cause. That would make him a HUGE loser.

You are an idiot who thinks that coaches need to run up and down sidelines to show "emotion". MM shows about the same emotion as Kim Mulkey, and any other men's bb coach outside of Cal and a couple of other clowns. Saying he lacks enthusiasm either shows you to have zero knowledge of basketball or a liar.

KM probably shows more emotion pinching one off than McMorgue does on the sideline

Our team is soft
I don’t know what happened to our strength and conditioning program since wade left but it’s a noticeable difference
We get pushed around way too much

He doesn’t act like a jackass like their savior “gangster general” wade did. Therefore it’s why he hasn’t produced thus far.

McMahon doesn’t do himself many favors, but his sideline demeanor isn’t exactly something people should knock him for.

I’ve seen that guy turn into an evil elf on the court, like he was gonna eat someone alive. You have to throw chairs like Bobby knight, but some energy doesn’t hurt.

It must hurt to be so stupid as to still believe WW is going to get a show cause. The mental gymnastics alone to convince oneself of this must be exhausting
