This defense is lights out. I love seeing the return of the hard hitting defenses like we saw in 2003 and 2011.

He has definitely been the man. LSU has the horses to compete with anyone, they just weren’t getting placed in position to succeed.

We absolutely need to keep him around, whatever he wants money wise, give it to him.

I was very nervous after FSU in the defense. It looked very bad.

However, I've been pleasantly surprised now that we're 4 games in to learn that FSU is a bit better than I thought, and our defense has come together better than I ever could have imagined after game 1.

Biggest difference: He is changing personnel as needed....haven't seen that in years.

He is benching starters for better players, makes sense to me.

Agreed. His defense has been really stout and not gimmicky at all. So far the players get what he’s dishing out.

This is how you win games against the Tennessees and Floridas of the SEC. This defense isn’t backing down against anyone.

He’s got them playing fast and more physical than I’ve seen in years. He’s been a stud so far.

They are playing fast because they all understand his defense.Very refreshing after watching two years of blown assignments , guys out of place, bad tackling etc...House will be a head coach in the next few years just hope its after we get another NC.

My biggest compliment is how you can see the continuity and improvement and consistency week to week. I’ll reserve judgement until we face better competition, but he has these guys playing together and trusting each other and what they’ve been coached to do.

It’s been a bit since LSU flew to the ball and arrived in a bad mood.

I think BK is the biggest difference maker being he hired Matt House. Out of the hires that BK has made? No doubt.

It wasn’t just that. You could see that many of our guys, especially the LBs and Safeties just weren’t reacting and closing down space fast enough yet, especially in zone. They didn’t have the scheme down well enough to play a good P5 opponent at game speed. Because of that, we also weren’t trying to disguise coverages much in that game, making it a lot easier on FSU to know where to attack.

Then you had personnel issues. Baskerville didn’t win his appeal until right before the game, so his snaps were limited and Perkins hadn’t worked his way into the rotation as much yet. Smith got hurt. BJ got banged up. Wasn’t Brooks out for the opener, as well?

I credit the staff for moving some guys around and making some really solid adjustments after that game. I credit the players for executing and really doing their jobs well since then. I think a lot of the mistakes vs FSU were due to execution problems and those seem to have been fully addressed at this point. They seem to have a solid grasp of the defense now.

I don’t blame the coaches or players for FSU anymore. Okay maybe Polian and M. Taylor a little.

But the more I think about it that was on the administration for not making absolutely certain that either both teams played a week zero game or neither did. That’s something you ensure BEFORE you sign on to play the game.

I will not argue this but would like to bring light to the fact lack of turnovers by our Offense has been major to being a difference. JDaniels does not get credit enough for his game management.
