Can't believe O hired an OC who would be out of work just one season later. Oh well, on the bright side, the guy did score more points against Bama in two quarters than O and E have in eight.

Everyone posting on TD kept knocking their keyboard off the table with their erection when talking about him and begging for him to get the job.

Well he did beat down Texas last year. If he can do it with Maryland's roster, I like our chances this year.

Wonder why Saban hasn't pulled the trigger on analyst offer?

I think Canada still sees himself as more than that. He obviously had a lot of pride, probably too much. It chapped his hide to work with someone like the defensive line coach, whose football knowledge I'm sure he sees as inferior.

Unfortunately for him, one thing he's missing is force of personality, something that the coach here has. He should've humbled himself and taken an FCS coaching job and work his way up the hard way.

Really puts into perspective how good Aranda is about deferring to O when necessary. While Aranda is clearly head and shoulders above O in terms of defensive acumen and scheme, he understands the leadership structure of a team and his role as a coordinator under the head coach.

Could be Ensmiger creates such an illusion.
I chuckle at you guys pointing fingers at other LSU coaches Canada, Aranda, Miles, even Saban, trying to protect your hero who hasn't sniffed the success of the one you ridicule.

Reality check below.

Even in O's leg-irons Canada would've run circles around E without the aTm OT game boosting his stats.

O hired him then hired Les' long time offensive assistant.

He's the idiot here.

Maryland did that to Texas the year before as well, without Canada.

Apparently, Maryland is Texas' kryptonite.

so is your argument about who won more games or how many points the team scored? And does Ensminger's struggles with Alabama (albeit in different years and with different teams) make Canada a good coach?

Ensminger had a better QB last year and still couldn’t put points on the board.

I like Ensminger but Canada is a better OC and it’s really not up for debate. However, Ensminger is far easier to work with apparently so he has that.

You wanna talk RBs (Guice vs Brossette/Williams vs CEH), OL and WR experience? Or maybe how long the QB was there to work with the team or number of SEC starts or overall starts?

Wait, I thought 2017 was a rebuild and that O wasn't left with any talent to work with?

Who had more hype coming into LSU, Matt Canada or Travonte Valentine? I feel this board was riddled with these two names for a long time.

I never said that. I have posted Phil Steele's experience metric for how little experience the 2018 team had probably 3-4 times.

What is your assessment of the 2017 vs 2018 offensive experience/talent?

You’re right. Eaux was forced to hire Canada. It was neither his decision nor that of Coach P.

I liked Matt Canada and thought if given full run here it could have been a fun exciting offense.

He stepped into something last year that 99.9 % of the people on this board couldn't handle and directed that group of young men to within a break even season when I think most saw them lucky to win two games.

I think he chose to step back this yr after not getting that gig. I'm not a Maryland fan but can recognize what went on there and I'll respect the man for keeping those kids together. Everything I've read about that situation was he was all about those young men.

Well he made over 2 million last year so I guess he can be picky.

Not after child support and taxes. Child Support is worse than the IRS. They'll throw you in jail even after you give them money. And in Louisiana it's worse than other states. 1st offense for non-payment in Louisiana is 90 days in jail, in other states it's 3 days. Lots of vindictive women in Louisiana.

Can we get some evidence regarding this? A quote from Orgeron, someone on staff, etc? Anything other than some quote from a media member referencing an "unnamed source?"

Otherwise, this just seems like a convenient excuse to shield Orgeron from the mistake of having brought him in.

He was forced to make a big name hire. That didn’t mean he was forced to hire Canada.
