Wonder if Gilbert let himself go a bit if he's up to 255 now. HE was always in that 235-ish range previously. In fact going into last season he was "supposed" to be in the 225 range and playing WR or something crazy.

I'm so thankful for Taylor, but it continues to be mind boggling that he was the only TE that committed (through the portal or HS) last offseason. Really the only thing you needed to be able to get snaps here were two feet.

I would still take Arik back in a heartbeat.

Reports were that he got up to 3 bills. I'm sure for someone like him it's easy to shed that. Hopefully he has someone helping him to deal with whatever non football issues he's had.

Why? He's not good. It takes more than physical ability.

Why are you such a loser? You said the same thing about Ricks a few weeks ago.

Feel sorry for Gilbert. Seems like he is mentally unstable to a degree. There is little doubt that the Roman circus Special Ed was running at LSU had a large effect on why he left but we will never know.

Johnson is just a freshman on a team that is sucking bad air. Too early to say.

I was one of those puzzled by the number of targets MT86 was getting when LSU had a player like Bech, but once again, Kelly knew better. Taylor could end up being the truth.

Lol it’s still baffling why Johnson would have flipped to A&M. $$

He’s already behind the other signee Donovan Green who’s had 17 catches in 8 games.

I mean if he had no off field issues I'm with you. But he's essentially missed 2 seasons now at UGA. He's got some serious issues that he still clearly is working through.

Arik Gilbert's freshman stats at LSU.

Mason Taylor's freshman stats at LSU.

Arik Gilbert was an incredible freshman tightend, much better than mason Taylor, that couldn't get his head out of whatever bad place he had it. He's still struggling mentally for whatever reason. Also, Arik Gilbert barely dropped any balls that year, whereas Mason has. Gilbert also had some insane acrobatic catches, he was going to be one of the best tightends to ever play the game. Don't shite on the kid when he's down, he has everything to be great and I hope he can figure out what's wrong.

Zach Thomas' sister. You probably know that but my college-aged kids have never heard of Zach Thomas or Jason Taylor. Mason has good genes...

Well he’s almost through year 3 averaging ~130 yards per season, so don’t expect much

You forget he quit on his team mid-season? Not for the bowl game, mid-season

No reason to want him back

No doubt Gilbert had an awesome season and had Brennan stayed healthy there is no telling how many catches he would have ended up with.

Mason Taylor is the better TE. Aric Gilbert isn't the blocker that Mason is and Mason is getter better every game.

Never understood either. Why would this family be swayed by money?

I live in Atlanta, where Gilbert is from. Have a buddy whose son went to school with Gilbert and knows him pretty well. It's schizophrenia.

Football aside, you have to really sympathize with Arik.
