Just like his attitude toward LSU, I expect an LSU alumnai analyst to do better than being 1-2 in his predictions of the team he should know better than any other. All criticism of his failures as an analyst are more legit than his unwavering antagonism toward LSU.
Still love the guy, but his magnanimous, higher-than-thou attitude does not assuage his poor, poor results. The only thing that sucks more than one of us openly hating on LSU every time his mic heats up is the realization that after the first loss, no matter how hard fought or close the outcome, we all know that he will predictably say “I told you so.”
And by the metric of non-championship season or bust, his team was a complete and utter failure 75% of his college career. (not by my standard—I viewed the 10 and 9 win non-championship seasons as successes)

I’m pretty sure I remember Marcus calling LSU the Cleveland Browns of college football. I’m also pretty sure he can go frick himself.

Marcus was interviewed by Hester in August and remember Marcus going on and on how he was impressed that LSU beefed up the defensive and offensive front. He loved that we were physical again and said the lack of physicality was why LSU was manhandled by Bama in the trenches in 2015 and 2016. Said its Vintage LSU. Its our brand. Its who we are. He said that in August during what I assume would have been LSU two a days. At that point it gave me renewed faith in the season and honestly thats when I stop doubting the staff and season.
But Marcus did pick Auburn last week along with most of the Baton Rouge sports media besides Hester.

Spears didn't pick us to be the GOAT team in football this year? Well no shite. Most other people didn't either. He seems to be positive about the direction of the program and likely thought like many other people that this wasn't our year. So far he's wrong but that doesn't make him any different than any other pundit or even most fans. I thought we'd be better than what most of the "nega" people were projecting but if you put a gun to my head a month ago and asked me to guess our record after 3 weeks it probably wouldn't have been 3-0

Sports broadcasting in college is opinion based and clearly he’s been having issue with LSU and LSU fans for a while. This Saturday before he incorrectly analyzed the potential issues and subsequently picked Auburn for the win, he and Finebaum scoffed about “LSU fans never being happy”, although there is a valid argument, you don’t go along trashing a fanbase on national TV when it’s your freaking alma mater. Show some freaking class.
