Good luck to MS JR ,LSU isn’t about 1 player.Growing up in TX he has no connection to LSU except his parents and they probably didn’t have the time to pump us all the time.Had his family attended a lot of sporting events at LSU it might have been different.

I am not chalking up any losses to Wade . Its way past fricking time to stop inserting Mcmahon into whatever successes or lack thereof that Wade has, but some of you go way overboard to blame the prior coach while dismissing the program and conditions he inherited four years ago. Wade did not have to be at LSU to establish a relationship with Spears the last couple of years. The hypocrisy of some of you people is way of the rails. You just cannot live without having a villain.

Can you imagine how these morons would act if they were Ole Miss fans and Arch Manning, whose Dad, Brother, Grandfather and Grandmother all attended Ole Miss, but he chose to go to Texas - yet lived in neither Mississippi or Texas?

Perhaps some bring up CoachMc too often, but the sooner I forget about that guy, the better. I usually only mention him when a whole boatload of double-standards and deflection get spouted. Such as losing 1 scholarship for 2 years on a 15-deep scholly bench is "draconian sanctions". You can't type that nonsense with a straight face - you have to be giggling like a schoolgirl.

NCAA threats are meaningless and the IARP didn't prove shite. There were no looming draconian sanctions. Wade himself only got a show cause with 10-game suspension, which he served a year removed and took McNeese F'n State to the NCAAT.
CoachMc only has himself to blame for lack of a War-Chest. I'm pretty sure quite a few posters have covered this one very well.

Not getting a legacy kid is disappointing....Antonio Hudson says hello. I understand what happened to some extent, but it's still disappointing.

Hindsight is great. No one knew what the eventual sanctions might be and basketball was under investigation along with a very serious football issue. I believe the NCAA was / is a hypocritical organiztion which ignored worse violations by Cal, Coach K, Good ole Uncle Roy etc and shite all over Wade at the same time. To this date they have not convicted him of any violations while coaching at LSU, but that was irrelevant when the whole athletic department was under scrutiny and national scorn. You better believe McMahon was told to do nothing that might bring more NCAA attention and further place the whole athletic department into jeopardy. So, yes those sanctions were potentialy draconian and played a pivotal role in the moribundity of the basketball program.

This is NIL time and he grew up in Texas. I grew up in North Louisiana in the early 60's and some of my first memories are laying in front of the stereo listening to John Ferguson and LSU football.
During the fall LSU football shuts down everything. I told my wife before getting married that fall is LSU football and don't schedule anything when LSU is playing.
I pull for LSU in every sport but LSU football is something my parents and my brother and I shared since i was little. Sometimes i think getting to watch the games on TV doesnt come close to listening on the floor to the stereo as a family.
I never lived close to Baton Rouge so getting to actually go to a game has always been special. I took my wife and her parents to an Ole Miss game a while back and they had never seen anything like it.
I am in my 60's now and 90% of my sports gear is LSU. Other 10% is Dallas Cowboys. Lived in Dallas after college a long time and was a Cowboy fan as well.

I’m an LSU fan to the core. That said I’ll bring my kids to LSU games and show them the pride and passion of the Tigers. If they make a choice to go elsewhere I’ll support them. Have a problem with that meet me at Sonic.

Imagine getting rid of the coach you didn't want and getting the coach you did want and yet you can't stop talking and throwing shite at the coach you didn't want. Why don't you talk about the new coach and all of his accomplishments in his first three months. He has a big war chest, everyone is behind him, no potential draconian sanctions, be happy, be joyous, spread all the good news, and by all means hold the new coach to the same standards as the old coach.
