If Hilliard would have pitched, suffered an injury, and missed a whole year like Walker, people would be calling for Mainieri to be fired.

But we have Burrow and Naz Reid! Onto bigger and more exciting things: football and basketball!

Nick Webre did not make the trip to Oregon for the regional. Described as a "coach's decision." This per James Moran of Tiger Rag.

Seems like we have a crazy number of missing starters in baseball way too often, more than football. How can that be? It’s virtually EVERY year.

Could it be the pitching coach?

Outside of this year, what the hell are you talking about. What other years recently have we had several injured players?

Wasn’t this how Walkers injury was labeled at first last year??

I believe that was in the forearm area though.

This is a rotator cuff issue. The severity is not yet determined. But it being “fatigue” that gets better with a week of rest is probably the most optimistic view possible.

If Gilbert 2017 shows up at all we will be OK.

That’s gone. His motion is completely different. He doesn’t have the movement on his fastball that he had last year nor the sharpness on his slider.

If Gilbert sees the mound, it’s because we are bery far behind, or we are just out of pitching late in the tourney.
