MLB and college are different
There's a code in MLB and retaliation will happen at some point in time, followed by a fine and suspension if necessary
You can't fine in college baseball but you can suspend.
It was low class by MSU and Cohen wanted to send a message and he did.
It's the same reason you have the sliding into second base rule when trying to break up double plays.
The reason the rule is in place in college is because the SS is usually an irreplaceable part and with schollie limitations you don't want teams taking out the best player. Same reasoning for the Katz pitch behind his head. There's no place for it in the college game but Cohen knew he could get away with it and he did. Congrats Cohen! He knew LSU would not retaliate and if they did it would hurt them more than just accepting it from MSU.

I absolutely agree....the problem that I have with college here is that the retaliator is usually the one that gets the punishment. Thank god Maineiri has our kids at a spot above all that foolishness, because I guarantee you if Katz would have said anything to Graveman, Katz would have been gone in a heartbeat.

who cares if he threw at him, he's a starting SEC pitcher, if wanted to hit him he would have
and it didn't 'buzz' his head it was over & behind him by a foot, just like the pitcher wanted it
You are an absolutely idiot. You don't throw at someone's head to send a message. If he threw at him and it hit him in the arse cheek, then who cares. But you don't throw at someone's head. Throwing behind his head is every bit as bad as "buzzing" him. You clearly don't understand anything about baseball.

He's trolling, bruh.

Throwing at a players head isn't against the unwritten rules, it's against the actual written rules of baseball. You go head hunting, you get tossed. even in MLB. It's dangerous and uncalled for.
It was bush league, but I expect nothing less from a POS like Cohen.

I see it now. I just thought he was stupid. He probably is both.

I didn't say anything about unwritten rules, but that actually isn't 100% true. I have seem many pitches go up and in and the hitter just starts barking. Warnings get issued and no one gets tossed. Seen it plenty of times.

There's a reason Ron Polk was so adamantly opposed to the hiring of John Cohen. Cohen played for him, so Polk knew what kind of person he is. Polk was obviously concerned that Cohen would drag the State program he (Polk) worked so hard to build thru the mud. He was right.

So the a-hole pitcher pretty much admitted he threw the pitch at him. Someone needs to tell the State fans who are in denial.

There is another quote from Cohen that shows his mentality: "Although we only won one game, we outpitched LSU all wkend". He said almost exactly the same thing last yr when we took 2 out of 3 at home. Regardless of how this season plays out, you can bet CPM & the team will be pumped up next yr at The Box.

Hey if that's the way he wants to play and coach his team then so be it. It obviously isn't working for him when it comes to playing LSU.

I hope, as an attorney, you are working to repeal the inchoate crimes. I'm surprised you are unable to find an issue with the animus necessary to throw a baseball at someone's head.

Don't let it get to you! They run out of things to talk about in the OT lounge so the jump over here and stir shite up

I know. Just offering the opposing viewpoint. SFP's logic wouldn't punish attempted murder, for instance.

You're being purposely obtuse. In life, there are things that aren't against the law, but it doesn't preclude you from acting like a cock sucker either.
To throw a potentially lethal pitch at a player's head is a dick move. Intentionally throwing at somebody can get you ejected because it is against the rules at the umpire's discretion. (kinda like how holding is a discretionary call in FB)

Well, apparently it worked, didn't it?
I'm not justifying it at all, because I think it was bush league, but....
MSU DID blow us out after that.
If I'm an opposing coach, I waste a pitch every game until LSU proves they can handle it.

So I read an article and I see that the pitcher did intentionally throw behind the batter, but he said he was not aiming to hit him.
